Bridgit Mendler fans briefly thought she had returned to music with a surprise EP. Mendler then told them the release was not hers.

Six songs appeared on Mendler’s Spotify and Apple Music pages on June 5 under the title Once Again…, according to Just Jared. The tracks listed were “Loyalties,” “Oxygen,” “Mercy,” “Long Run,” “Cold,” and “Flowers.”

The drop spread quickly because Mendler has not officially released new music in years, and the songs appeared on her streaming profiles rather than a random fan page.

Mendler corrected the confusion on X on June 10. “Sorry to disappoint everyone, the spotify release wasn’t me!” she wrote, according to Just Jared. She followed with a second message that kept the door open for an actual return: “When it is, trust me, you’ll know.”

The six-track project initially looked like a quiet comeback because it appeared on Mendler’s official artist pages. The Hollywood Reporter covered the EP before Mendler’s clarification, reporting that the project had appeared under her name on streaming platforms.

Mendler’s post changed the story from a surprise release to a streaming mix-up. The songs may still be visible on some platforms, but Mendler’s own statement says fans should not treat Once Again… as her real return.

Fans Had Been Waiting for New Music

Mendler still has a loyal music audience from her Disney Channel and pop years. She starred as Teddy Duncan on Good Luck Charlie, appeared on Wizards of Waverly Place, and was part of the Disney Channel movie Lemonade Mouth.

Her debut album, Hello My Name Is…, arrived in 2012, followed by the 2016 EP Nemesis. Songs including “Ready or Not” and “Hurricane” remain tied to the Disney-era pop audience that still watches her accounts for any hint of new music.

Just Jared noted that Mendler left Hollywood nearly a decade ago to pursue work in tech and has not officially released new music since then.

Her Career Now Looks Very Different From Her Disney Years

Mendler’s post-Disney life has moved far outside the usual child-star path. In 2024, People reported that she became CEO of Northwood Space, a startup working on shared ground infrastructure for communication between Earth and space.

She also studied at the University of Southern California, MIT, and Harvard, according to People. Mendler revealed in 2024 that she and her husband, Griffin Cleverly, had adopted a son after fostering him.

That shift made the false-alarm EP spread faster. Mendler is no longer a full-time pop act or Disney star, but the reaction to Once Again… showed that her music still has an audience waiting for a real announcement.

She Recently Looked Back on Her Disney Schedule

Mendler has not avoided her entertainment past. Just Jared reported that she recently described her Disney years as formative, saying she filmed Good Luck Charlie, went to the studio after work, and performed concerts on weekends.

That schedule now sits beside a very different professional life: startup CEO, Harvard Law graduate, MIT researcher, wife, and mother. The streaming confusion briefly pulled her music career back into the center of the conversation.
