Nicola shared a photo of herself and Brooklyn smiling together and wrote that she could not believe they had gotten engaged six years earlier. “I feel like I’ve known you my whole life, you’re my best friend and my forever love wrapped in one,” she wrote, according to People.

She added that Brooklyn was “the kindest man” she had ever met and said she was happy to do life with him. Brooklyn replied in the comments, “You’re my best friend forever and ever.”

Brooklyn also marked the anniversary with his own Instagram post. He wrote that six years had passed since he asked his best friend to marry him and called Nicola his “beautiful wife” and “whole heart.”

“Every day with you feels like the best adventure,” he wrote, according to People. He also said Nicola makes life “brighter, funnier, sweeter, and more magical.”

The Sun framed the tribute as another public show of loyalty to Nicola amid the Beckham family tension. That was the outlet’s interpretation; Brooklyn’s caption itself stayed focused on his wife.

The Couple Got Engaged in 2020

Brooklyn and Nicola began dating in 2019 and got engaged less than a year later. Us Weekly noted that they made their relationship Instagram official in January 2020, announced their engagement that July and married in April 2022.

People reported that their wedding took place in Palm Beach, Florida, with a traditional Jewish ceremony. David and Victoria were present, and Brooklyn’s siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper were also part of the wedding party.

Us Weekly noted that David and Victoria celebrated Brooklyn and Nicola’s first wedding anniversary in 2023, with Victoria writing that it was special to be together and Nicola replying that the day had been fun.

The Posts Landed During a Public Beckham Family Rift

The anniversary posts arrived after weeks of renewed coverage about Brooklyn’s relationship with his parents. The Sun reported that Brooklyn was upset after David and Victoria included him in Father’s Day posts, citing an unnamed insider who said he had asked to be left alone publicly.

The outlet also reported that Brooklyn previously posted a statement saying he did not want to reconcile with his family and claimed he had been controlled by his parents for much of his life.
