A social media post called Tallulah Willis the mirror image of her father, Bruce Willis. On November 2, she shared a screen recording of what strangers had written beneath the photo and explained why those comments still hurt after years of living with an eating disorder.

Willis said she usually avoids reading the replies. When she does, she wrote, “I remember why I almost starved to death after a lifetime of disordered eating.”

Tallulah, 32, the youngest of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s three daughters, had left a reply under the original post herself. “Def could have picked a cuter photo but,” she wrote with a shrug emoji, according to E! News. Other people used the picture to rank her looks against her father’s or speculate about her health.

Her husband, musician Justin Acee, was among those who answered her directly after she shared the recording. “I love you, you’re beautiful,” he wrote.

Tallulah said people often seem genuinely shocked when she tells them what strangers have called her. She wanted them to see the kinds of remarks she still gets even after speaking publicly about her recovery. She ended her caption with #choosekindness, saying she takes pride in making that choice herself.

She was 11 when she first went looking online for a photograph of an outfit she loved. In a 2023 essay for Vogue, Tallulah recalled wearing a mink capelet to an event in New York with her mother and Ashton Kutcher. The capelet made her feel grown-up. Back at her family’s apartment, she opened her laptop to see if she’d made the party pages.

She found a picture of herself beside her mother and spent two hours reading the comments in silence. At the time, she believed strangers were telling her something about her face that the people who loved her had kept from her. For years, she told no one what she’d read.

In October 2025, Tallulah posted pictures of herself and her father and pointed to their matching smiles. For a long time, she said, she couldn’t even bring herself to say the word “chin.” Looking at the features Bruce had passed down to her, she called them “the most precious gift I could be bestowed with,” as Entertainment Weekly reported.

On November 1, Tallulah spoke about Halloween and recovery in a separate Reel quoted by PEOPLE. Costumes themselves didn’t upset her, she said. What she noticed that year was how fondly she remembered dressing up when her body was a different size.

She shared the memory for people who might recognize it. Missing the way she once felt in a costume, she said, didn’t mean there was anything wrong with her body now.
