Carín León fans were already seated inside Sphere when Thursday night’s concert was postponed before a song was played.

The Mexican singer-songwriter’s Sept. 10 Las Vegas show was called off at the last minute because of what organizers described only as an “unexpected issue during transportation.” An announcement inside the venue said safety was the priority, according to Just Jared.

The surprise became even bigger when the replacement date was announced. Tickets from Thursday’s show will now be honored on Sept. 15, 2027, more than a year after the original performance. Fans unable to attend the new date were told they could request refunds through their original point of purchase within 30 days.

No further explanation has been given for what happened during transportation.

Fans Were Already Inside Sphere When the Show Was Postponed

Thursday was supposed to begin the second block of León’s seven-show Sphere engagement. Just Jared reported that fans were already sitting in their seats and the venue was nearly at capacity when an announcement over the sound system informed them that the performance would not happen.

The message said the show was being rescheduled because of an unexpected transportation issue and gave Sept. 15, 2027 as the new date. Existing tickets will remain valid, while people unable to return were told they could seek refunds within 30 days. Fans immediately began speculating about what “transportation” meant.

Sept. 10 Was Added as a Seventh Show Because of Demand

León was initially announced for Sept. 11, 12 and 13, with additional concerts later added for Sept. 4, 5 and 6. Following further demand, Sphere announced Sept. 10 as a seventh and final date in October 2025.

León successfully completed the first three concerts Sept. 4 through 6. His opening night also made him the first Latin artist ever to perform at Sphere.

The sold-out Sept. 4 debut included appearances by country singer Cody Johnson and Mexican rock band The Warning, according to Sphere. The opening weekend was successful enough that the venue cited “unprecedented demand” when announcing another León residency for 2027.

The Makeup Date Now Extends His 2027 Sphere Return

León already had another Sphere engagement waiting for him next year before Thursday night’s postponement. Earlier on Sept. 10, Sphere announced that he would return for concerts on Sept. 16, 17 and 18, 2027, timed around Mexican Independence Day celebrations in Las Vegas.

The Sept. 10 makeup show will now take place one day earlier, on Sept. 15, effectively turning León’s return into four consecutive nights at Sphere for anyone counting the rescheduled performance alongside the newly announced residency. Sphere’s current Carín León page confirms his planned 2027 return following what the venue calls a sold-out debut weekend.

As of Sept. 11, Ticketmaster continues to list performances for Sept. 11, 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. León is then scheduled to resume his wider tour Sept. 18 at SAP Center in San Jose.
