Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell are married after celebrating their relationship with an intimate wedding surrounded by family, friends and prominent figures from music and professional basketball.

The Grammy-winning singer, 28, and the Cleveland Cavaliers guard, 29, exchanged vows on August 1 in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Guests included Ciara and Russell Wilson, along with NBA players Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Bam Adebayo and Josh Hart.

Jones wore a fitted white gown with a crystal-covered corset bodice, while Mitchell chose a cream-colored suit and custom Adidas sneakers bearing their wedding date in gold.

The First Dance Ended With a Kiss

Videos shared from the celebration showed Jones and Mitchell dancing closely to Musiq Soulchild’s “Love” as their guests gathered around the floor. Near the end of the song, Jones wrapped her arms around her husband and kissed him.

In another clip described by People, guests moved onto the dance floor as the DJ introduced the couple as “Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell.” Ciara shared footage from the first dance and called the newlyweds the “Real Live Black Ken and Barbie.”

“Yesterday was a dream!” she wrote, telling Jones and Mitchell that she and Wilson loved them. Ciara also posted a video of herself and Wilson singing along to the couple’s first-dance song. “The power of Love is so beautiful,” she wrote while congratulating the newlyweds.

Coco Jones Changed Into a Lace Minidress for the Party

Jones’ bridal gown featured thin straps, a structured corset and floral crystal appliqués across the bodice. Her veil carried similar floral detailing, while the skirt fell into a fitted mermaid silhouette. She later changed into a short white lace dress with sheer sleeves covered in floral appliqués as the celebration moved into its after-party.

Mitchell added sunglasses to his cream wedding look and was filmed holding a microphone while dancing beside his wife. He posted a close look at his custom wedding sneakers and described the celebration as “what a night.”

The couple celebrated beneath a reception tent decorated with ivory tables, candles and large pink-and-white floral arrangements. A circular bar stood near the center of the space.

Their four-tier wedding cake featured a custom “DC” design combining their initials. Photographs showed the newlyweds feeding each other pieces of cake. Mitchell also shared footage of himself lip-syncing to Fantasia’s “When I See You” while Jones danced beside him on a pale pink stage lined with flowers.

Ciara and Wilson were involved in Jones and Mitchell’s relationship well before they joined the wedding guest list. Wilson previously revealed that he and his wife had helped Mitchell organize the proposal. “Ciara and I are so happy for you two,” he wrote after the engagement. “Thanks for allowing us to plan this with you.”

During an October 2025 appearance on Sherri, Jones explained that Wilson connected Mitchell with the planner who helped arrange the surprise. When asked whether Ciara and Wilson would continue advising the couple, Jones responded, “Pray over us, weekly dinners, please! Y’all are the mentors.”

Mitchell proposed during a private vacation after the end of his NBA season and Jones’ sold-out tour. The couple announced their engagement on July 11, 2025, with a photograph of Jones displaying her ring and overhead footage showing Mitchell dropping to one knee before they embraced.

Coco Jones Did Not Want a Wedding Made for TikTok

Before the ceremony, Jones made it clear that she did not want the celebration designed around viral social-media moments. “I feel like a lot of the things that I see on TikTok are specifically for TikTok, and I’m not trying to do a viral wedding,” she told People in January.

Jones said she wanted to keep most of the experience private while still sharing a small part of it with supporters. “If it was up to me, y’all wouldn’t know,” she said. “It’s mostly going to be private and intimate and with a sprinkle of sharing is caring.”

She also joked that the engagement was the “biggest contract” she had ever signed. “This is a real-life, forever commitment,” Jones said. She described the milestone as exciting, intimidating and powerful.

They First Met at a Phone-Free Networking Event

Jones and Mitchell first met in 2023 at a networking event attended by artists, actors, athletes, models and other creatives. No phones were permitted, allowing the pair to connect in person without social-media distractions.

Mitchell had previously sent Jones an Instagram message after seeing her on Bel-Air, but she never noticed it. The couple later said their demanding careers helped them understand and support one another.

Jones described Mitchell as her biggest cheerleader, while the NBA star said joining her on tour allowed him to see how hard she worked behind the scenes.

“She’s an amazing human being,” Mitchell said during a Cavaliers media appearance. “She brings me peace.” Mitchell also contributed spoken vocals to “Thang 4 U” from Jones’ debut album, Why Not More?.
