David Beckham found the funny side after Victoria Beckham’s calm reaction to England’s dramatic World Cup goal became a viral moment.
People reported that Victoria appeared almost unmoved when Jude Bellingham scored during England’s World Cup quarterfinal win over Norway.
The Sun reported that David later defended his wife online, joking that she was celebrating on the inside.

The Beckhams watched England’s 2-1 extra-time win over Norway from the stands at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, July 11.
David, Romeo, Cruz and Harper appeared thrilled as Bellingham’s goals helped England reach the World Cup semifinals. Victoria, however, stayed seated and looked much more composed than the rest of the family.
Comedian Jenny Johnson joked on Instagram about Victoria’s “electric” fan energy, leaning into the old Posh Spice image of being famously serious. David responded in the comments with a lighthearted explanation.
“She was celebrating inside I promise,” he wrote, adding that “her reactions were slightly slower” than his.
Victoria Was Later Seen Clapping
The Sun reported that Victoria was later seen clapping during the post-match scenes in Florida.
Victoria has also spoken before about how her public expression is often misunderstood. People noted that in her 2025 Netflix docuseries, she joked that she can look moody in photos even when she is “smiling on the inside.”
Netflix’s Tudum also highlighted the same explanation from the documentary, with Victoria saying her red-carpet expression often comes down to camera angles and habit.

David shared his own excitement after the match, calling the night a special moment in Miami and saying he was proud of England for reaching the semifinal.
People reported that David was also seen singing with Romeo and Cruz after the win, including a stadium version of “Hey Jude” after Bellingham’s extra-time winner.
Victoria also posted photos from the game, where the family was joined by Romeo’s girlfriend Kim Turnbull and Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel.
England advanced to face Argentina in the semifinals on July 15.
