Elizabeth Hurley had never met Miley Cyrus before beginning her relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus, but Miley’s work had already been a familiar part of life with her son, Damian Hurley.
During a July 27 appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Andy Cohen asked whether Hurley had met Billy Ray’s daughter. “I have met Miley. She’s adorable,” Hurley replied.
Hurley added that she has been fortunate to meet some of Billy Ray’s other children and described them as “fabulous.” Her introduction to Miley, however, followed years of seeing her on television and hearing her music at home.
Damian grew up watching Hannah Montana and later became a fan of Miley’s pop career. Hurley said that history had already convinced her that she would like Miley before the two ever met.
Damian Followed Miley From ‘Hannah Montana’ to ‘Wrecking Ball’
Hurley recalled that Damian loved Miley’s Disney Channel series and also enjoyed Billy Ray’s role as her on-screen father, whom Hurley jokingly called “Father Montana.” As Damian entered his teenage years, his interest expanded beyond the show to Miley’s music.
Hurley said she watched videos such as “Wrecking Ball” with Damian “a zillion times.” By the time she met Miley personally, Hurley had followed enough of her career to expect that they would get along, and she said the real-life introduction confirmed that impression.
Hurley and Billy Ray Prefer the Countryside

Hurley said she and Billy Ray are “remarkably similar in strangely different ways.” Although they had different upbringings, both have spent decades working in entertainment, traveling frequently and arranging their lives around unpredictable professional opportunities.
Hurley said they have been together for nearly a year and a half and now spend much of their time in the countryside in Tennessee or England. Despite careers that regularly took them into major cities, she described both of them as “country mice at heart.”
Their shared interests include birdwatching, photographing birds of prey and spending time outdoors. Hurley gardens while Billy Ray sits beneath a tree and plays guitar, a routine she described as “bliss.”
The Couple Met While Filming a Christmas Movie
Hurley and Billy Ray first met while filming the 2022 holiday movie Christmas in Paradise on the Caribbean island of Nevis. Billy Ray later told Entertainment Weekly that they shared relatively few scenes but immediately found themselves laughing together.
They lost contact after production before reconnecting later. The couple confirmed their relationship on April 20, 2025, with an Easter photograph showing Billy Ray kissing Hurley on the side of her face.
Miley discussed her parents’ lives after their divorce in a May 2025 New York Times interview. She said getting older had helped her view them as individuals rather than only as a parental pair, adding that she could see her father “finding happiness, too.”
The following month, Billy Ray and Hurley attended the London premiere of Miley’s visual album Something Beautiful. Hurley later shared a photograph of Miley and Damian together and captioned it, “The babies are all grown up.”
