Emma Watson turned up at Olivia Rodrigo’s first Daisy Chain Fields festival without an announcement, a stage introduction or much chance of staying anonymous once someone in the crowd looked closely enough.
The 36-year-old actress was filmed dancing with a friend during Chappell Roan’s Aug. 29 set at Great Park in Irvine, California. In the original TikTok, Watson jumps and sings along to “Hot to Go!” while surrounded by festivalgoers.
The person filming had initially noticed two women enjoying themselves rather than realizing she had a celebrity in front of her. “Went to watch Chappell on my break when I see these two girls having the best time,” TikTok user @hi_itsmesaraeee wrote before the reveal. Once Watson turned enough for her face to become visible, the caption changed accordingly: “I saw it was the queen herself, HERMIONE!”
Later that evening, she posed for a photo with Rodrigo, Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan, giving the day one more cross-generational lineup that was never on the official schedule.

Watson was standing toward the back of the crowd. She wore an oversized white T-shirt and black miniskirt while her friend danced beside her in a white shirt, denim shorts and a white hat.
The pair jumped in time with “Hot to Go!” before Watson briefly turned, revealing her face to the person filming. Entertainment Weekly reported that the clip quickly drew attention online once viewers recognized her. Watson kept dancing after being spotted, including joining some of the movements associated with Roan’s song.

The later photograph removed any doubt that Watson had spent the day at Daisy Chain Fields. Rodrigo included a shot of herself smiling alongside Watson, Nicks and McLachlan in her own post-festival Instagram carousel.
The image also captured several generations represented across the day. Rodrigo created and headlined Daisy Chain Fields, while Nicks and McLachlan appeared as special guests during her headlining set. Nicks joined Rodrigo for “Landslide,” and McLachlan performed “Building a Mystery” and “Angel” with her.
Daisy Chain Fields Raised $20 Million for 10 Nonprofits
The inaugural Daisy Chain Fields was built as both a music festival and a fundraising platform for organizations working on issues affecting women and girls. The official festival site advertised 14 performances across two stages, with acts including Rodrigo, Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Bikini Kill, the Breeders, Garbage, Santigold and others.
Before Rodrigo’s headlining set, she announced that the festival had generated $10 million for its 10 nonprofit partners. Melinda French Gates then joined her onstage and announced a $10 million matching commitment through Pivotal, bringing the current total support to $20 million.
The beneficiaries include Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, the Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeForm, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, the National Women’s Law Center and Planned Parenthood.
