Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have welcomed another rescue dog into their family, and the newest arrival is already getting acquainted with their other pet.
Mendes introduced Charlie in an Instagram post shared on July 31, posting a video and several photographs of the dog interacting with Magic, whom the family adopted through the same rescue organization in 2024.
“Introducing Charlie, our newest member of our familia,” Mendes wrote. “We’re in love!”

The video showed Mendes sitting outside between Charlie and Magic while petting both dogs. In one photograph, she played with Charlie’s ears, while another showed Charlie resting on the grass as Magic moved closer to investigate. According to People, Mendes completed the introduction by sharing an image of herself beside both animals.
Gosling and the couple’s daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, did not appear in the post. Mendes has long kept her children largely away from social media, making the announcement primarily about Charlie’s arrival and first public interaction with Magic.
California Doodle Rescue Helped With the Adoption
Mendes thanked California Doodle Rescue in her caption, indicating that the organization helped the family adopt Charlie. The rescue celebrated the news in the comments, writing, “Congratulations!!!! They have the best parents in town!!!!”
“We love you guys!” Mendes replied. California Doodle Rescue is a nonprofit that rescues, fosters and finds homes for mixed-breed poodles. The organization also advocates for humane sheltering, veterinary care and public education about responsible dog ownership.
Magic Joined the Family in 2024

Mendes introduced Magic in November 2024 after adopting her through California Doodle Rescue. “Meet the newest member of our family … Magic!!!” Mendes wrote at the time. “More to come … I’m crazy about her and excited to share life with Magic with you.”
Magic has since become a regular presence on Mendes’ Instagram account. A July 17 post showed Mendes and the dog spending an afternoon beside an inflatable pool as the actress tried to recreate the feeling of a 1990s summer.
Other posts have shown Magic relaxing with Mendes and walking through the actress’ dress. In May, Mendes shared one of those moments with the message, “Thank God for dogs. The joy is endless.”
