Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling are married, giving the British royal family one of its biggest private gatherings of the year and placing a new royal bride in the spotlight.

Phillips, the son of Princess Anne and eldest grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, married Sperling on June 6 at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire. Page Six reported that the ceremony was attended by several senior royals, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Zara Tindall, and Mike Tindall.

Harriet Sperling Chose a Tiara for the Ceremony

Sperling’s bridal look immediately drew attention because she wore a tiara, a choice that gave the wedding a more traditional royal note. The decision stood out because some recent royal second weddings have skipped tiaras in favor of flowers, hats, or simpler headpieces.

People reported that Sperling wore a floor-length Emilia Wickstead gown with a lace overlay, a lace veil, custom ivory satin Jimmy Choo heels, and a tiara and earrings by Pragnell. Pragnell also designed her engagement ring, tying the jewelry together as part of one polished bridal look.

The Tiara Was Not Borrowed From Princess Anne

Before the wedding, royal watchers wondered whether Sperling might wear one of Princess Anne’s tiaras. That did not happen. Instead, her Pragnell tiara kept the bridal look connected to her engagement jewelry rather than directly to Anne’s personal collection.

That choice avoided an obvious comparison with Peter’s first wedding. Autumn Kelly, Peter’s first wife, wore Princess Anne’s Festoon Tiara when she married him in 2008. Sperling’s separate tiara gave this wedding its own visual identity while still honoring the formality of a royal family ceremony.

The Guest List Made It a Major Royal Gathering

The wedding brought together much of the working and extended royal family. Reuters reported that King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate, Princess Anne, Timothy Laurence, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie were among those seen at the celebration.

The attendance made the event significant even though Phillips is not a working royal. He is 19th in line to the throne, works as a sports management executive, and has generally kept a lower public profile than many of his royal cousins.

Some Royal Absences Drew Attention

As with many royal family events, the absences became part of the conversation. Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson were not among the publicly reported attendees.

Reuters reported that the wedding gathered senior royals in the Gloucestershire village of Kemble. People also reported that Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson were not invited. The guest list therefore became both a family celebration and another snapshot of current royal relationships.

The Wedding Also Blended Two Families

Phillips has two daughters, Savannah and Isla, from his previous marriage to Autumn Kelly. Sperling has a daughter, Georgina, from her previous marriage to Antonio St. John Sperling.

Page Six reported that Savannah, Isla, and Georgina attended the ceremony, making the day as much about a blended family as a royal guest list.

Peter and Harriet’s relationship became public in 2024, and their engagement was announced in August 2025. Less than a year later, the wedding brought their children, relatives, and royal connections together in one village church.

It Marks a New Chapter for Peter Phillips

The ceremony is Phillips’ second marriage. He and Autumn Kelly divorced in 2021 after marrying in 2008 and welcoming their two daughters.

His wedding to Sperling now gives the royal family a rare remarriage moment within Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren’s generation. It also introduces Sperling, an NHS nurse, more fully into the wider royal circle after months of public interest in the couple’s engagement, wedding plans, and family dynamic.
