Jamie Lee Curtis knew Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, for decades. Her final visit with them ended with something ordinary enough to fit inside a frame.
Curtis said she had taken family photographs during an August trip to Stonehenge, where her husband Christopher Guest and Reiner were working on Spinal Tap at Stonehenge: The Final Finale. Back home, she had several pictures enlarged and framed.
The last time she saw the couple, Curtis went to their house alone to deliver the prints, she recalled in a recent Entertainment Tonight interview covered in AOL’s Entertainment Weekly report. Some showed Stonehenge; others captured Rob, Michele, Guest and their families.
Months later, Rob and Michele were killed at their Los Angeles home on December 14th, 2025. Curtis has spoken about the loss several times since, but the photographs gave her latest recollection a specific final scene.
The Last Visit Was About Photographs From Stonehenge
Once the prints were ready, Curtis brought the framed images to the Reiners’ home without Guest.
She remembered Rob and Michele talking during that visit about a creative project they hoped to organize. Curtis said she was willing to help.
She was simply dropping off pictures from a recent trip, unaware that it would be the last time she saw them.
Michele’s Final Text Was About Annie
Curtis also revealed her final text exchange with Michele. It concerned Curtis and Guest’s eldest daughter, Annie, whose godparents were Rob and Michele.
Annie was pregnant, and Michele wanted to send her money through Venmo. Curtis told her the Reiners had already been generous to her children and that Annie did not need another gift.
Michele replied, “You’re not being helpful.”
Annie later gave birth to a son one week after the Reiners died. PEOPLE reported in April that Curtis had described her family confronting grief and new life almost side by side.
Curtis Recently Honored Rob at the Emmys
The memories arrived less than two weeks after Curtis honored Reiner during the Emmy Awards’ In Memoriam segment.
Curtis became emotional onstage as she remembered him as generous, kind and funny. Reiner had received a posthumous Emmy days earlier for his work on The Bear.
During the tribute, covered in PEOPLE’s Emmy coverage, Curtis said Rob and Michele were missed. Her new interview returned to family photographs, a final visit and one last text from Michele.
