Jen Hamilton turned an ordinary DoorDash delivery into a surprise wedding gift after finding a handwritten note tucked beside her food.
The labor and delivery nurse, author and social media creator had ordered Indian food when her driver explained that every tip was helping her and her fiancé pay for their upcoming wedding.
The message was signed only by “Hope and Tyler” and included their October 31 wedding date. That was enough information for Hamilton, who searched online until she found the couple’s wedding website and registry.
She then purchased a gift and shared a screenshot of the receipt with her followers, joking that she loves “stalking people for kindness.”
The Driver Explained Where Hamilton’s Tip Was Going

Hamilton showed the note in an Instagram video posted August 1, holding it up while explaining what had arrived with her order. “Your tip is helping to make our wedding possible. It means the world to us,” the message read before ending with the couple’s names, a heart and the date “10.31.26.”
Hamilton immediately began looking for a way to do more. She pointed out that the first names and wedding date gave her enough information to begin searching online.
She Found the Registry With Only a Few Details
Hamilton entered the limited information into Google and located a wedding website belonging to a Hope and Tyler scheduled to marry on the date written beneath the note.
After confirming that she had found the right couple, Hamilton visited their registry and purchased a gift. She included a screenshot showing that the order had been placed but did not disclose what she selected or how much she spent.
“I love stalking people for kindness,” she captioned the video, encouraging followers to help make sure Hope and Tyler saw it. The driver and her fiancé had not publicly responded to the unexpected gesture when People reported on the exchange.
Hamilton Has Been Raising Money for Women Rebuilding Their Lives

The wedding gift came during a difficult period in Hamilton’s personal life. She and her husband, Brian Hamilton, announced their separation on June 15 after 15 years together. The former couple, who share sons Ellis and Luke, said they remained committed to placing their family’s well-being at the center of the transition.
Hamilton later alleged that Brian had been leading a “double life” and had become romantically involved with another person. Brian had not responded publicly to People’s requests for comment on those allegations.
As she navigated the separation, Hamilton introduced a Sisterhood of Solidarity merchandise collection and pledged to direct 100 percent of the profits from all merchandise sold during July and August to charities supporting women rebuilding their lives.
Hamilton said she had the financial resources to leave a situation that no longer worked for her but recognized that many women facing similar upheaval did not have the same freedom.
“One thing I love to do is take something terrible that is happening and turn it into something good for other people,” she said while announcing the campaign. In a July 26 update, Hamilton told followers that the initiative had generated more than $40,000 within its first several days.
Her Platform Began With Nursing and Childbirth Education
Hamilton built her online following through candid stories from labor and delivery nursing, pregnancy and childbirth education, humor and glimpses into her family life. Her first book, Birth Vibes: Stories and Strategies for an Empowered Birth, was published May 5.
The book draws on Hamilton’s experience as a labor and delivery nurse, emergency room veteran and mother to help expectant parents prepare for changes that can occur during childbirth without losing sight of the values they want guiding the experience.
