Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey arrived at one of Emmy weekend’s traditional gatherings with two major milestones competing for attention.
The pregnant Big Bang Theory alum joined her fiancé at the 2026 BAFTA TV Tea Party at The Maybourne Beverly Hills on Sept. 13, showing off her growing baby bump as the couple posed together ahead of the television industry’s biggest night.
Pelphrey had another reason to celebrate. He enters the Sept. 14 Emmy ceremony as a nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as Robbie Prendergrast in HBO’s Task, marking the second Primetime Emmy nomination of his career.
The couple is also preparing to welcome its second daughter. Their first child, Matilda, turned 3 in March, and Pelphrey recently said the new baby is expected “very soon.”

Cuoco posed alone before Pelphrey joined her in front of the BAFTA backdrop. The BAFTA gathering was held at The Maybourne Beverly Hills on Sunday afternoon as part of the final stretch of events leading into the 78th Emmy Awards. The invitation-only TV Tea traditionally brings together nominees and other television figures before the ceremony.
Cuoco announced her second pregnancy on June 10, revealing at the same time that she and Pelphrey are expecting another girl. “Completing our little family, what a dream come true!” she wrote, describing the second pregnancy as a “little windier” journey while saying the family was grateful to be reaching this point.

Pelphrey is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for playing Robbie Prendergrast in Task. The Television Academy lists the nomination as his second at the Primetime Emmys, following his 2022 guest-actor nomination for playing Ben Davis in Ozark. Task received six Emmy nominations this year, including Pelphrey’s supporting-actor nod and Mark Ruffalo’s nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series as FBI agent Tom Brandis.
Robbie begins the series as a Philadelphia-area garbage collector and father who starts robbing drug houses, eventually putting him on a collision course with the FBI task force led by Ruffalo’s character. Pelphrey has repeatedly said becoming a father changed the way he understood Robbie’s willingness to make extreme choices for his children.
“Becoming a dad changed me. Changed everything,” Pelphrey told Men’s Health while discussing the role. Other interviews around the series have echoed the same point. Robbie’s children are the character’s “North Star,” and Pelphrey said that motivation made immediate sense to him after becoming a parent himself.
Their Second Daughter Is Expected ‘Very Soon’
Asked when he and Cuoco were expecting their second daughter, he told Extra, “God willing, very soon.” He also said Cuoco was doing “amazing” and joked, “She’s a champion. Thank God it’s her, not me.”
Matilda is already preparing for the change. Pelphrey said the 3-year-old had given up her playroom for the baby and was regularly explaining how she planned to help once her younger sister arrived, including knowing that a crying baby might need food.
Pelphrey’s Emmy category will be presented during the Sept. 14 ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The 78th Emmys air live on NBC and stream on Peacock beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
