Jennifer Lopez was there to watch Emme Muñiz graduate high school, while Marc Anthony was reportedly not seen at the Los Angeles ceremony.

Lopez attended the milestone with her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, Emme’s twin brother Max, and Samuel Affleck, according to Page Six. The outlet reported that representatives for Lopez and Anthony did not respond to requests for comment about Anthony’s absence.

The graduation came shortly after Lopez said she had been emotional for weeks as Max and Emme prepare to leave for college.

TMZ reported that Lopez watched as Emme accepted their diploma at the ceremony. Emme wore a cap, gown, and lei, while Lopez stood nearby in sunglasses.

Page Six reported that Max was also at the graduation. The outlet noted that Max and Emme, who turned 18 earlier this year, are heading into a major transition as they prepare for college.

Lopez shares Max and Emme with Anthony, whom she was married to from 2004 to 2014.

Samuel Affleck Was Also Seen at the Ceremony

Samuel Affleck, Ben Affleck’s son with Jennifer Garner, was also photographed at the event. TMZ reported that Samuel was seen chatting with Emme during the graduation.

The detail drew attention because Lopez and Affleck’s children spent time together during Lopez and Affleck’s marriage. Lopez and Affleck split in 2024, but Page Six reported that Affleck has previously praised Lopez’s relationship with his children.

The graduation photos showed a wider family group around Emme, but the article should not turn Samuel’s presence into a larger claim about family dynamics beyond what the photos and reports show.

Marc Anthony’s Reported Absence Has Not Been Explained

Anthony’s reported absence became part of the coverage because he is Emme and Max’s father. Page Six reported that he was not seen at the ceremony.

No confirmed reason has been given for why Anthony was not photographed or seen there. Without a statement from Anthony, Lopez, or their representatives, the accurate framing is that he was reportedly absent, not that he intentionally skipped the milestone.

Anthony has seven children. Page Six also noted that he and his wife, Nadia Ferreira, are currently expecting another baby.

Lopez Recently Said the College Transition Has Been Emotional

Days before the graduation, Lopez spoke about how hard the college transition has been for her. During a May 27 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she said she had been crying for two months as Max and Emme prepared to leave home.

PEOPLE reported that Lopez said the twins are heading to different colleges and that she plans to help them move into their dorms.

Lopez also said it has always been “the three of us” since the twins were born, which made the upcoming change especially emotional for her.

The Milestone Comes as Max and Emme Start Separate College Chapters

Lopez told Jimmy Kimmel that both twins have their own dreams and are excited about college. She joked that she plans to bring so much from home while moving them in that they may decide they miss it.

The graduation coverage should stay centered on Emme’s milestone and the confirmed family members who attended. Anthony’s reported absence is part of the story, but no public explanation has been given.
