Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, sharing the news in the final episodes of the latest season of Clarkson’s Farm.
The 66-year-old former Top Gear presenter disclosed the diagnosis during scenes filmed last year for his Prime Video series. Reuters reported that Clarkson told farm manager Kaleb Cooper and land agent Charlie Ireland that a biopsy had confirmed cancer after a medical check earlier in the year.
Clarkson described the cancer as aggressive, but said it had been found early. He later underwent surgery, with The Guardian reporting that 10% of his prostate was removed because that was the portion affected by cancer.
The final two episodes of Season 5 were released on Prime Video on June 17, after Amazon had split the season across three weekly drops. Before the episodes arrived, Clarkson warned followers on Instagram that the last installments would be “a difficult watch.”
Clarkson Said the Cancer Was Caught Early
In the episode, Clarkson told Cooper and Ireland that the diagnosis was “aggressive” but “really early,” according to People. He said he had known since May, after the biopsy, and would be “slightly out of action” while he underwent treatment.
Clarkson had previously undergone a heart procedure after doctors found severe blockages in two arteries, a scare that also became part of the show’s latest run.

Amazon confirmed that Season 5 launched on June 3, with the final two episodes scheduled for June 17. The show’s usual mix of farming chaos, local disputes and dry humor gave way to a heavier final stretch as Clarkson’s health became part of the season’s closing story.
Reuters reported that Clarkson signed off the season from a hospital bed and told viewers, “If this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six.” The moment left the farm’s next chapter tied directly to his recovery rather than another crop, council battle or business plan.
The reveal also echoed an earlier Clarkson’s Farm storyline involving Gerald Cooper, the Diddly Squat farmhand who previously shared his own prostate cancer diagnosis on the series. Clarkson referred to Cooper in the new episode as someone who could now understand the medical side of what he was facing.
The Reveal Has Already Raised Awareness
Prostate Cancer UK thanked Clarkson for sharing his diagnosis and treatment, saying the episode would raise “vital awareness.” The charity urged men worried by the story to check their risk or speak with a doctor.
The Guardian noted that prostate cancer is the most common male cancer in the U.K., and that men over 50, or over 45 with risk factors, can request a PSA blood test from their GP. Clarkson has also spoken before about friends being diagnosed with the disease and the importance of getting checked.
In the final episode, Clarkson said he was waiting to learn more about his prognosis after surgery. He had warned fans before the release that the last two episodes were not the show’s usual “bucolic and charming” fare.
