Jerry Hall is speaking warmly about Mick Jagger nearly three decades after their relationship ended.
The model and actress, who turns 70 on July 2, spoke to British Vogue about life in the country, aging, fashion, her upcoming birthday, her divorce from Rupert Murdoch, and the large blended family she still shares with the Rolling Stones frontman.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Hall said she and Jagger now get along well, years after their long relationship ended in 1999. Hall and Jagger share four children: Elizabeth, James, Georgia May, and Gabriel.
Hall did not revisit the old breakup with bitterness. She told British Vogue she can “only think nice things” of Jagger now and described him as a strong presence in their extended family.
Hall Says Jagger Still Comes Over for Family Lunch

Hall told British Vogue that Jagger comes to her Oxfordshire home for Sunday lunch with his fiancée, choreographer Melanie Hamrick, and their son, Deveraux. The detail gives a rare look at how friendly the family setup has become since Hall and Jagger’s split.
She also credited Jagger with helping the wider family get along. Entertainment Weekly reported that Hall called him “a great diplomat” and described a Christmas gathering in Mustique where around two dozen relatives spent the holiday together.
Jagger has eight children with five women, and Hall said the blended family may be “odd,” but it works. She also said the children and grandchildren know and love one another.
She Spoke Very Differently About Rupert Murdoch
Hall’s comments about Jagger stood out because she sounded much colder about Murdoch. Hall married the media mogul in 2016, and their divorce was finalized in 2022 after more than six years of marriage.
People reported that Hall told British Vogue she has not seen Murdoch in a couple of years. She also described the divorce as “traumatic” and “quite tiring.”
Hall said staying friendly with an ex is easier when children are involved, but she made clear that not every past relationship becomes part of a peaceful family routine.
Hall Is Preparing for 70 in the Country
The Vogue interview also shows Hall living a much quieter daily life than the one attached to her biggest tabloid years. She lives in an 11-bedroom country house in Oxfordshire, gardens, keeps chickens, hosts friends and family, and is planning a 70th birthday celebration with lunch, dancing, and an Elvis impersonator.
She is also returning to television. British Vogue reported that Hall is joining the next series of The Celebrity Traitors, giving her another public chapter after decades of modeling, acting, and being linked to some of the most famous men in the world.
She Rejects Dressing “Appropriately” for Her Age

Hall also used the interview to push back on the idea that older women should dress quietly or disappear into safer clothes. People reported that she called ageism in fashion “terrible” and rejected pressure to cut her hair short, go gray, or dress in a way other people consider more appropriate.
She also said she has not had Botox, fillers, or plastic surgery, telling British Vogue that she finds some procedures “scary.” Hall said women should be able to look their age and still look good.
“We should stand up for our rights to be old and look good!” she said, according to People.
