Jimmy Kimmel turned Spencer Pratt’s Los Angeles mayoral loss into a moving-truck joke.

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host used his Tuesday monologue to mock Pratt after the former The Hills star failed to make the November runoff in the Los Angeles mayoral race. TheWrap reported that Kimmel rented Pratt a U-Haul after the loss, pointing back to Pratt’s campaign promise to leave Los Angeles if he did not win.

Pratt had said he would leave the city if Mayor Karen Bass or Councilmember Nithya Raman won. The latest Los Angeles County election results showed Bass and Raman taking the top two spots in the June 2 primary, leaving Pratt in third place and outside the runoff.

Kimmel treated the result like a farewell assignment. The truck shown in the segment was decorated with Pratt’s face and the words “Just defeated.”

TheWrap reported that Kimmel addressed Pratt directly during the monologue, saying the reality star had promised to leave Los Angeles if Bass or Raman won. Kimmel joked that moving can be expensive, especially once out-of-state campaign donations stop coming in, then said his staff had rented Pratt a U-Haul.

Kimmel said the truck had enough space for Pratt’s bed and his crystal collection. He also said staff had spent the day decorating the vehicle so people could “wave goodbye” as Pratt left town. TheWrap reported that Kimmel told Pratt he could drop the truck off in front of the Bel-Air Hotel if he wanted it.

Kimmel Had Mocked Pratt’s Campaign Before Election Day

Kimmel had already made Pratt’s campaign a late-night target before the primary. The Guardian reported in May that Kimmel warned viewers about Pratt’s run and compared the former reality star’s political rise to Donald Trump’s path from television to office.

In that earlier segment, Kimmel said mayor should not be someone’s first job and argued that voters unhappy with Bass should choose “somebody who isn’t wasting our time and money to get back on television.” The U-Haul bit gave Kimmel a follow-up once the vote count put Pratt behind Raman.

Bass and Raman Advanced to the Runoff

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s results listed Bass with 290,761 votes, or 34.32%, and Raman with 245,490 votes, or 28.98%. Pratt received 216,122 votes, or 25.51%, according to the county’s posted results.

The race had drawn national attention before Pratt fell short. Entertainment Weekly reported that former Mighty Ducks actor and crypto entrepreneur Brock Pierce offered a $1 million reward for credible evidence of fraud or major irregularities after Pratt was eliminated, while saying his effort did not presume wrongdoing.

TheWrap reported that Pratt had not formally responded to the results when it published its story. Kimmel ended the segment by asking Pratt to let him know if he wanted the truck.
