Kaley Cuoco is getting closer to becoming a mom of two, and her second baby girl received a celebration built around tacos, family and plenty of familiar faces.
The Big Bang Theory alum celebrated with family and friends on Aug. 16 at a fiesta-themed baby shower featuring a Taco Bell-inspired cake, taco-themed party favors and plenty of food. Cuoco called the day “just the sweetest” while sharing photographs from the celebration on social media.
The guest list included Lacey Chabert, Kimberly J. Brown, Amy Davidson and Ashley Jones. Cuoco’s younger sister, Briana, was also there and affectionately referred to the baby on the way as “Pelphrey girl number two.”
The shower came just over two months after Cuoco and fiancé Tom Pelphrey announced that they are expecting their second child together. Their 3-year-old daughter, Matilda, will become a big sister to another girl.
The Shower Went All In on Tacos
The theme extended well beyond the food. According to PEOPLE’s baby-shower coverage, guests were shown hats and tote bags reading “Just a girl who loves tacos,” while one of the party’s most eye-catching details was a layered cake styled around Taco Bell.
Briana shared a clip of Matilda sitting in front of the cake while happily eating what appeared to be a burrito. Kimberly J. Brown also documented the celebration and described it as a beautiful day honoring Baby Pelphrey No. 2.
Cuoco shared photographs with several of her longtime friends at the shower, including Chabert, Brown, Davidson and Jones, as the group embraced the colorful party theme.
The relatively playful taco celebration looked considerably different from the shower Cuoco and Pelphrey held before Matilda’s birth in 2023. That party included a band, dinner, dancing and a nighttime light show created with 400 drones, which formed images and messages including “Baby Girl Pelphrey 2023.”
Cuoco Says Their Second Daughter Is ‘Completing Our Little Family’

When Cuoco announced the pregnancy on June 10, she made clear what welcoming another daughter meant to the couple. “Completing our little family, what a dream come true!” she wrote in the Instagram post.
Cuoco also acknowledged that getting to the second pregnancy had been “a little windier in many ways”. She emphasized instead how grateful she and Pelphrey were to be expecting again.
Entertainment Weekly reported that the announcement carousel included photographs taken throughout Cuoco’s pregnancy, family pictures with Matilda and sonogram images of the new baby. One sonogram supplied another joke. Cuoco pointed out that the final image appeared to show their unborn daughter raising her middle finger, calling her their “dainty princess.”
Cuoco and Pelphrey welcomed Matilda on March 30, 2023. They became engaged in August 2024, more than a year after becoming parents.
Another Baby Before the Wedding Was Already Part of Their Plan
The expanding family is following the unconventional timeline Cuoco and Pelphrey previously said suited them. After their 2024 engagement, Cuoco said they were in no hurry to begin wedding planning and suggested another child might arrive first.
“We’re gonna go way out of order. That’s our plan,” she told PEOPLE at the time. That is exactly how things have unfolded. Cuoco and Pelphrey are preparing to welcome their second daughter while remaining engaged.
