Mike Tindall has shared another playful glimpse at the Princess of Wales’ competitive side.

The former England rugby player, who is married to Zara Tindall, said Kate Middleton still joins in on a royal-family version of beer pong, with one very British twist.

According to PEOPLE, Tindall said the family usually plays “Prosecco pong” rather than traditional beer pong. He added that Kate “still plays it with us.”

Tindall Said Kate Is “Uber Competitive”

Tindall made the comment while discussing how much sport and competition run through the royal family. He said everyone is competitive, then pointed to Kate’s party-game energy as one example.

HELLO! Magazine also covered Tindall’s remarks, noting that the game is normally played with Prosecco rather than beer when the family joins in.

The detail fits the image Kate has built over years of public appearances, where she often looks comfortable racing, sailing, playing tennis, or joining a sporty challenge during royal engagements.

The Beer Pong Joke First Surfaced in 2023

Tindall has teased Kate about beer pong before. In 2023, Prince William, Princess Kate, and Princess Anne joined him on a special episode of The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, where the conversation turned to sport, competition, and the family’s private sense of humor.

During that appearance, Tindall described Kate as “uber competitive,” and Kate pushed back on the beer pong claim. The Good Bad Rugby episode was filmed at Windsor Castle and gave royal watchers a more relaxed look at William, Kate, and Anne talking about sport.

The Prosecco Pong Detail Comes With Some Context

The comment is a light royal-family anecdote, but it comes after Kate recently spoke more carefully about alcohol. During a March visit to Southwark Brewing Company in London with Prince William, she reportedly said that since her cancer diagnosis, she has not had much alcohol and has become more conscious of it.

That context matters because Tindall’s comment does not suggest Kate is drinking heavily or ignoring her health. It is a party-game story from a family member, not a health update.
