Kristen Bell is offering another look behind the scenes of Frozen 3, and she did not arrive at Walt Disney Animation Studios alone.
The actress shared photos from the studio in Burbank, California, on Aug. 12 as work continues on Disney’s third Frozen movie. According to PEOPLE, Bell was joined by her dog Frank as she returned to the home of Anna, Elsa and the rest of Arendelle.
One image showed Bell and Frank walking into the Disney Animation building, while another featured the dog posing in front of animation artwork of Anna and Elsa. Bell joked about bringing Frank to work by describing him as her “temporary admin assistant.”
The new photos arrive months after Bell revealed that she was back in the recording booth as Anna. Production is well underway on the sequel, which is scheduled to reach theaters in November 2027 with several key members of the original cast and creative team returning.
Frank Got His Own ‘Frozen’ Studio Moment
Bell’s latest update focused more on the recording-day experience than on revealing anything about the movie’s story. The images placed Bell back inside Disney Animation Studios as voice work continues.
Frank received his own piece of the spotlight. After walking into the building with Bell, he posed in front of artwork featuring Anna and Idina Menzel’s Elsa. “Accompanied by my temporary admin assistant,” Bell captioned the photo.
Bell had already marked her return to the franchise in April with an Instagram post from the recording booth. “Back in the booth!!” she wrote alongside a snowflake emoji while tagging the official Frozen account.

Bell is not the only returning cast member offering glimpses into the production. Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, revealed in February that he had begun recording for the sequel. Gad shared a photo from Disney Animation Studios with directors Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy and producer Christina Chen.
“3rd time is always the charm,” Gad wrote. “Time to build another snowman.” By June, Gad had heard and recorded enough material to make a bold comparison with the first two films. During an appearance on Good Morning America, he called Frozen 3 “the funniest of the three movies I’ve ever recorded.”
“I’m laughing my butt off,” Gad added. He also praised the new music from Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the Oscar-winning songwriting team behind “Let It Go” from Frozen and “Into the Unknown” from Frozen 2. Gad described their new music as “incredible” and teased “unbelievable stuff” and “unbelievable developments” without revealing what happens to the characters.
Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf Are Returning
Bell will again voice Anna, with Menzel returning as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and Gad as Olaf. Lee, who co-directed the first two Frozen movies, is directing Frozen 3 with Correy. She is also co-writing and executive producing the movie, while Chen is producing.
Correy already has significant history with the franchise, having worked as an animator on the original Frozen and as an animation supervisor on Frozen 2 before co-directing the Olaf short Once Upon a Snowman. Anderson-Lopez and Lopez are also returning to write songs for the sequel. The married songwriting team won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Let It Go” and later earned another nomination for “Into the Unknown.”
Story details remain closely guarded. Disney first offered fans an early visual hint at D23 in 2024, when Lee presented concept art by production designer Brittney Lee showing Anna and Elsa riding horses toward an unknown destination as a mysterious figure watched from the sky.
‘Frozen 3’ Arrives in November 2027
The original Frozen opened in 2013 and was followed by Frozen 2 in 2019. The two films have earned more than $2.7 billion combined at the worldwide box office, according to Disney.
The franchise’s future will extend beyond the upcoming third installment. Disney has also confirmed that Frozen 4 is in development, although details about how the two upcoming movies will connect have not been publicly revealed. For now, the next stop is Frozen 3. Disney has scheduled the movie to open exclusively in theaters on Nov. 24, 2027.
