Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky are easing back into public life after spending much of the summer out of the spotlight with their first child.
The engaged couple was photographed shopping and taking a casual walk in Los Angeles on Thursday, Sept. 17. Gaga’s longtime assistant Ashley Gutierrez and manager Bobby Campbell joined them for the outing, according to Just Jared.
Gaga kept things casual in jeans and a T-shirt, while Polansky wore a tan hoodie, dark pants and a baseball cap. Photos also showed Gaga and Gutierrez loading purchases into a vehicle while Polansky walked alongside Campbell.
The outing came less than a week after news broke that Gaga and Polansky had quietly welcomed a child months earlier. Although records obtained by media outlets have since revealed details about their daughter, the couple has not personally announced the birth or publicly confirmed her name.
Their Daughter Was Born Months Before the News Became Public

People reported that documents identify the couple’s daughter as Rose Bean Polansky, born in Los Angeles on June 9. The details did not become public until September, months after Gaga finished her tour in April and stepped back from regular appearances.
People reported that the name Rose was inspired by Gaga’s connection to “La Vie En Rose,” which she performed in A Star Is Born and later incorporated into a large tattoo along her spine. A source told the outlet that the middle name Bean was likely inspired by activist and singer Carl Bean, whose 1977 recording “I Was Born This Way” influenced Gaga’s own “Born This Way.”
The couple kept their early months as parents largely private. A source told People that both Gaga and Polansky took time away from work during the summer to focus on their baby.
Gaga Had Already Said Motherhood Would Come First
She had spoken about wanting children for years and became increasingly specific about what parenthood would mean to her as her relationship with Polansky grew more serious.
During a July 2025 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Gaga said she did not know exactly how becoming a parent would affect her career, but she knew where her priorities would be. “My child’s safety and happiness will be my No. 1 priority,” she said, according to People.
A few months later, during an October 2025 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Gaga was even more direct about what she wanted next. “What I really want is to be a mom,” she said. “That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
In a 2025 interview with Elle, Gaga spoke about imagining a future involving “me and Michael and our kids” and said the couple wanted their future children to be free to become their own people.
The Couple Has Kept Their New Family Life Unusually Private
Gaga and Polansky began dating in late 2019 and made their relationship public in early 2020. She confirmed their engagement during the Paris Olympics in July 2024 when she introduced Polansky as her fiancé while speaking with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
Their relationship has gradually become both personal and professional. Polansky co-produced Gaga’s 2025 album Mayhem and received songwriting credits on several tracks.
Since becoming parents, however, both have largely stepped away from public attention. A source told People that Gaga was ready to slow down after her tour ended in April and wanted to enjoy the time away from the spotlight.
“She doesn’t want to miss any of it,” the source said, adding that Polansky was also taking an active role as the couple adjusted to parenthood.
