Lake Bell gave her new relationship a Halloween introduction. “Happy Hallow-hard launch,” she captioned an October 31 selfie with artist Rashid Johnson.
The 47-year-old actress wore a black beret and matching stole, while Johnson appeared beside her in a dark tuxedo jacket. Us Weekly reported the announcement on November 1.
Actress Erinn Hayes commented, “And lookin fiiiiiiiine on the take off!!” Designer Gabriela Hearst also welcomed the pairing, leaving replies that included “HOT” and “COUPLE.”
Bell shares daughter Nova and son Ozgood with tattoo artist Scott Campbell. They announced their separation in 2020 after seven years of marriage.

The two attended a New York Times anniversary celebration in September, Just Jared reported. On October 29, they posed together at the American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater, as photographs published by UPI document.
The gala honored Cynthia Erivo and carried an “Angels and Demons” theme ahead of Halloween. The ballet company’s fundraiser included a performance followed by dinner and dancing, with proceeds supporting its work and education programs.
Johnson and Sheree Hovsepian Continued Working Together After Their Split
Art-world power couple Rashid Johnson and Sheree Hovsepian have split after 15 years of marriage
Johnson and fellow artist Sheree Hovsepian announced their separation in May after 15 years of marriage. In a joint statement to Page Six, they said they intended to remain friends and continue coparenting their son. The report said they had not filed for divorce at that point.
They subsequently co-curated Rashid, Sheree and Friends at Château La Coste in Provence. The group exhibition ran from July 5 through September 6 and brought together work by artists from their professional and personal circles.
Speaking with Art Basel in July, Johnson described how their changing relationship had prompted conversations about friendship and community that helped shape the exhibition. “We’re going through a transition in our relationship, and our relationship is evolving,” he said. He also discussed their longstanding support for each other’s work and how Hovsepian’s perspective remained part of his creative thinking.
Bell Has Described Taking Her Time With New Partners and Her Children
In an August 2022 interview with Us Weekly, Bell described coparenting as an ongoing working relationship instead of something settled by a single productive conversation. She and Campbell coordinated with their children’s caregivers to keep the weekly routine predictable. Her priority was making sure the children knew what to expect rather than feeling their lives were being upended.
In an April 2025 interview with Parents, Bell said she and Campbell attended coparenting therapy for two years, including days when neither wanted to go. She compared their mutual respect to that of “army buddies.”
She also described taking time before introducing a boyfriend to her children, generally waiting five or six months. That could happen sooner when a partner had children, she said, because their ability to get along would affect whether the relationship could continue.
Johnson’s Museum Survey Opens in Chicago on November 7
Johnson’s work spans photography, painting, sculpture, film and installation. His exhibition A Poem for Deep Thinkers filled the Guggenheim Museum’s rotunda from April 2025 into January 2026, bringing together work from nearly three decades of his career.
The presentation included paintings made with black soap, spray-painted text works and large-scale sculptures. One installation, Sanguine, incorporated a piano that musicians played during the exhibition. A sculptural stage on the rotunda floor hosted additional performances developed with community organizations.
The exhibition opens at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago on November 7. It will be Johnson’s third solo presentation there, following shows in 2002 and 2012, and is scheduled to run through April 25, 2027.
