Sandra Bullock shared a collection of Halloween throwbacks featuring her children, Louis and Laila, on October 31. The post mixed family photographs with home videos from their younger years.
The 62-year-old actress was marking her first Halloween on Instagram after joining the platform earlier this year. Her own childhood also made an appearance in the collection.
“Nothing is off limits in this household. Happy Halloween from us,” Bullock wrote, adding heart and pumpkin emojis to the caption.
Bullock partially concealed her children’s faces with stickers in the photographs, preserving some privacy while sharing their costumes with followers.
Bullock and Her Kids Dress as ‘Toy Story’ Characters and Pirates

The first photograph shows Bullock embracing a young Louis, who is dressed as Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. His mother joins him as Jessie, wearing the cowgirl’s red hat, braided hair and cow-print chaps.
In another photograph, Laila wears a green-and-blue outfit resembling one of the film series’ little green aliens. Bullock appears beside her in a sock monkey costume, with the family’s two dogs joining them.
The pets have costumes of their own: one wears a papal outfit, while the other sports a dark bob wig. A separate mother-daughter photograph shows Bullock and Laila in matching pirate costumes.
Louis’ Attempt at Buzz Lightyear’s Catchphrase Makes His Mother Laugh
A video near the end of the carousel returns to Louis in his space ranger outfit. He identifies himself as Buzz Lightyear when his mother asks who he is.
Asked what Buzz says, Louis gives an answer that sounds like “Hail,” according to People. “Hail? I don’t think he says hail,” Bullock replies, laughing.
Another clip shows the work behind the dogs’ photograph. Still wearing her sock monkey costume, Bullock positions the animals, asks whether the wig looks right and repeatedly tells them to stay as she hurries out of frame.
Sarah Paulson singled out the final slide, calling it the “cutest damn thing” she had ever seen. Lily Collins responded to the collection with, “Uhhhh I love this so much,” as Entertainment Weekly reported.
Louis and Laila’s Childhood Recordings Also Feature in ‘Practical Magic 2’
Bullock adopted Louis in 2010 and Laila in 2015. In 2022, she explained that she was taking time away from acting to be present for their everyday lives.
Her return to the screen in Practical Magic 2, which reunited her with Nicole Kidman, included a contribution from both children. During a September 10 interview with NPR, Bullock explained that the film used recordings she had saved of their voices.
Laila can be heard singing and Louis laughing as a baby in a scene where Bullock’s character, Sally Owens, regains her ability to sense her children. Neither appears physically on screen.
Bullock said Laila rolled her eyes but asked whether the singing was hers. Louis initially missed his contribution while watching with friends, then recognized the familiar recording after his mother pointed it out.
In the same interview, Bullock said Laila was not allowed to use social media. Her daughter had learned about her mother’s Instagram popularity through friends.
