Miranda Kerr returned to the runway on Sept. 30, making her first fashion-show appearance in nearly a decade at Stella McCartney’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation during Paris Fashion Week.

The 43-year-old Australian model walked through the rain at the British ambassador’s residence in a seafoam green gown as McCartney presented a collection built around ocean conservation and marine life.

Page Six described Kerr’s appearance as a surprise comeback after years away from the catwalk. Karlie Kloss and Amber Valletta also walked in the show, while Jennifer Lopez was among the guests watching from the front row.

The booking also reunited Kerr with a designer whose runway she had walked twice before. Just Jared noted that Kerr previously modeled for McCartney in 2011 and 2013, making the Paris appearance her third runway show for the label.

Kerr’s Seafoam Gown Matched McCartney’s Ocean Theme

Kerr’s jersey gown featured oversized padded shoulders, cutouts around the waist and knotted draping that fell into a long ruched skirt. The back continued the gathered construction, while metallic accessories finished the look.

The pale green color fit directly into a collection filled with aqua, coral and other shades drawn from the sea. McCartney also used wave-like hems, fluid fabrics and images of dolphins, sharks and other marine animals throughout the show.

Reuters reported that McCartney used the presentation to draw attention to overfishing and the climate crisis. The designer’s “sea life, not sea food” message appeared throughout a collection that continued her long-running focus on alternatives to traditional animal-derived materials.

Rain fell across the outdoor runway in the British ambassador’s gardens as models moved through the collection and guests watched beneath umbrellas.

Her Previous Runway Came at Moschino in June 2017

Kerr’s previous runway appearance took place on June 8, 2017, when she modeled in Moschino’s Resort 2018 and Spring/Summer 2018 menswear show at Milk Studios in Hollywood.

The Los Angeles Times photographed Kerr on that runway in a patchworked denim look during Jeremy Scott’s Las Vegas-inspired collection. The show came only weeks after Kerr married Snap co-founder Evan Spiegel.

Since then, Kerr has remained visible through fashion events, beauty work and her Kora Organics business without returning to regular runway modeling. Her Paris appearance therefore marked a return to the specific part of her career that had been absent since 2017 rather than a return to public life.

Kerr Had Already Walked for Stella McCartney Twice

Kerr’s history with McCartney stretches back more than a decade. She first appeared on the designer’s runway in Paris in October 2011 and returned for another McCartney show in September 2013.

Her latest appearance came alongside other veteran models. Page Six noted that Karlie Kloss and Amber Valletta were also part of the lineup, giving the show several familiar faces from earlier generations of major runway casting.

McCartney’s Spring/Summer 2027 show also coincided with a milestone in the designer’s career, arriving 25 years after her first Paris presentation. The collection continued themes that have defined her label, including cruelty-free materials and efforts to reduce fashion’s environmental impact.

The Show Put Ocean Conservation at the Center

McCartney opened the presentation with a message about protecting marine ecosystems before sending the collection onto the runway.

Reuters reported that the designs included transparent bags containing starfish, sea-animal imagery and silhouettes intended to evoke water and movement. McCartney also used the show to press larger luxury companies to adopt more sustainable materials.

The designer has long excluded leather and fur from her collections and has invested in alternatives developed from materials including mushrooms and grape byproducts. For Spring/Summer 2027, that environmental focus moved directly into the theme of the clothes Kerr wore for her return.
