Nikki Bella says romance is not a priority as she balances motherhood, business commitments and a renewed schedule with WWE.
Speaking with Us Weekly ahead of SummerSlam, the 42-year-old wrestler joked that she is “pretty much like a nun” and described herself as “super celibate.”
Although Bella said part of her wishes she had a more active dating life, she explained that she does not have the energy to pursue one while raising her son, traveling for WWE and working on projects with her twin sister, Brie Bella.
Bella Said She Has No Energy for Dating
“I’m pretty much like a nun at this point,” Nikki said. “Super celibate. I should just put on a ring.” Brie told the outlet that she has tried to introduce her sister to potential dates, but Nikki’s limited free time usually wins out over the prospect of getting dressed up and meeting someone new.
Between WWE travel, the sisters’ wine company, their podcast and motherhood, Nikki reportedly prefers spending a rare open evening at home watching television.
Brie said she continues to watch for possible matches but respects her sister’s reluctance to pursue them. Neither sister identified a current romantic prospect.
Her Son Remains Her Main Priority
Brie described Nikki’s son, Matteo, as the center of her sister’s life. Matteo turned 6 on July 31, one day before the interview was published.
Nikki shares Matteo with former husband Artem Chigvintsev. The former couple settled their divorce through private mediation in November 2024 and have continued focusing on co-parenting their son.
Nikki had already indicated in 2025 that she was not ready to devote substantial time or emotional energy to dating after the divorce. Her latest comments suggest that motherhood and work have continued to take priority as her WWE commitments have expanded.
Her Reported Cooper DeJean Dates Never Became a Confirmed Relationship
TMZ reported in January that Nikki and Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean had spent time together and gone on several casual dates. The outlet’s source said there was mutual interest but emphasized that Nikki remained single and was primarily focused on her career and Matteo.
Neither Nikki nor DeJean publicly confirmed that they were in an established relationship. Nikki subsequently said in February that she was still single despite referencing the football player during an appearance on Raw.
Wrestling Has Reclaimed Part of Her Schedule
The interview arrived as Nikki prepared for another major WWE appearance. She was scheduled to join Brie and Paige against Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence during the first night of SummerSlam on August 1.
Nikki returned from injury on the July 24 episode of SmackDown, helping Brie and Paige clear Fatal Influence from the ring before issuing a challenge for the six-woman tag-team match.
Nikki and Brie also pushed back on the idea that their success on Total Divas and Total Bellas had replaced their commitment to wrestling. Brie said their visibility as reality stars sometimes caused viewers to misunderstand why they remained connected to WWE. The sisters maintain that wrestling was the foundation of their success and that they returned because they missed performing inside the ring.
