Nikki Glaser left Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding without a single photograph. Late in the night, she came surprisingly close to leaving with something much harder to explain.
During her September 4 show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the comedian said she nearly put the Travis Kelce figurine from the couple’s wedding cake into her purse. Entertainment Weekly obtained audio of Glaser recounting the moment during her residency.
By the time she reached the cake, the Taylor Swift figurine was already gone. Glaser said she wanted “one cool artifact” from a night when guests had surrendered their phones, so she picked up the remaining topper and got within “two seconds” of putting it in her purse.
She ultimately left it behind. The story was one of several Glaser finally shared two months after Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden on July 3, including spending part of the reception with Jennifer Lopez and disappearing from her usual digital life for roughly 12 hours.
Glaser Was ‘Two Seconds’ From Putting the Topper in Her Purse
Glaser said the temptation arrived late in the reception while much of the room was dancing. She wandered toward the cake and noticed that only the groom figurine remained on the top tier.
Her reasoning was uncomplicated. Someone appeared to have taken the Swift topper already, and Glaser had spent the wedding unable to photograph anything herself. She reached for Kelce’s figurine and brought it close to her purse before deciding against taking it.
Glaser capped the story with a joke about Tom Cruise’s height, pretending that she suddenly heard Cruise saying, “Put me down!” She did not suggest that Cruise actually stopped her or that anybody confronted her over the cake decoration.
Jennifer Lopez Became Her Unexpected Wedding Pal
Glaser also talked about how unusual it was to see famous guests without the entourages that normally surround them. She said some appeared to be attending without plus ones and singled out Jennifer Lopez, whom she already knew well enough to approach.
According to Glaser, Lopez greeted her warmly and handed her a coat at one point. The two also went to the restroom together, which gave Glaser plenty of material for the considerably more exaggerated portion of the routine.
“We were like pals all night,” Glaser said, according to E! News. Her jokes got increasingly absurd from there, but the basic story was that she and Lopez ended up spending an unexpected stretch of the wedding together.

Glaser’s description of having no photographs fits what Kelce has since said about how he and Swift wanted the wedding to feel. On the September 2 season premiere of New Heights, he said Madison Square Garden allowed them to create a private setting despite inviting roughly 1,000 people.
Kelce said the no phone policy changed how people interacted because guests did not have to worry about being photographed or immediately shared online. He said it allowed everyone to remain “in the moment and be present.”
ABC News reported on Kelce’s comments after the podcast aired. Swift’s representative previously confirmed that the couple married July 3 in New York City and that their friend Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Glaser Kept the Invitation Secret for Months
Glaser said getting invited had surprised her because she did not consider herself particularly close to Swift or Kelce. She received the invitation by text and resisted telling friends or family that she had made the guest list.
Once she entered the wedding, she said her phone was turned off and unavailable for about 12 hours. Her family and friends could not reach her or see her location, while she was inside MSG among guests including Lopez, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Tom Cruise.
Glaser described it as the “best night of my life as a Swiftie.” She came home without photographic evidence and without the Travis Kelce cake topper, leaving the Caesars Palace audience with the story instead.
