Pat Sajak made a rare public appearance at Air Supply’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Oct. 8, honoring Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock.

The former Wheel of Fortune host, 79, told the crowd he had considered getting a large Air Supply logo tattooed on his chest in honor of Hitchcock’s own ink.

He then explained that the design might “detract from my nipple ring,” according to Page Six.

“I’ll pause a moment while you poke out your mind’s eye,” Sajak joked as the audience laughed.

Sajak Said Air Supply Never ‘Phones In’ a Performance

Sajak drew on his television career to explain why he admired the duo’s ability to keep attracting audiences. “I do know a little bit about longevity,” he said, acknowledging the challenge of staying in entertainment without wearing out a welcome.

“They never phone in their performance,” he said, according to PEOPLE. “They never try to live off their reputation.”

Sajak said the occasion was especially meaningful because he and his wife, Lesly Brown, are good friends with the musicians. He described Air Supply’s songs as part of fans’ first dates, first dances and other important moments.

Air Supply’s Star Arrived Alongside New Music

The duo received the 2,859th star in the Recording category, outside the Fonda Theatre at 6126 Hollywood Boulevard. Radio personality Lisa Foxx hosted, and producer David Foster joined Sajak as a guest speaker, according to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Russell and Hitchcock met during rehearsals for the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar in May 1975. Their anniversary celebration included a sold-out Carnegie Hall debut on May 13, 2025, which the Walk of Fame described as their 5,560th concert.

Their hits include “Lost in Love,” “All Out of Love” and “The One That You Love.” Their U.S. breakthrough followed Clive Davis signing them to Arista Records.

On Oct. 2, the pair released A Matter of Time, their first studio album in 16 years. Air Supply’s announcement says it contains 11 new songs written by Russell. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also lists a touring schedule of approximately 130 shows a year.

Sajak’s ‘Wheel’ Farewell Came in Two Stages

Sajak’s final regular Wheel of Fortune episode aired June 7, 2024. He had begun hosting the daytime show in 1981 and its syndicated edition in 1983.

During his farewell, he thanked viewers for welcoming him into their homes and reflected on children learning letters, people practicing English and families watching together. He also thanked the contestants, staff and crew who had shaped his experience.

Ryan Seacrest began hosting the syndicated show that September alongside Vanna White. Sony Pictures Television said Sajak had agreed to remain a consultant for three years after his final regular season, Good Morning America reported.

His last Celebrity Wheel of Fortune episode aired June 10, 2025, with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Bernadette Peters competing. As Entertainment Weekly reported, Sajak thanked ABC and jokingly pitched a new primetime series called Sajak Senior Secret Agent.

Retirement Included a Stage Role and a Montana Joke

Sajak appeared in Prescription: Murder at the Hawaii Theatre Center from July 31 through Aug. 10, 2025. He played Dr. Roy Flemming, a psychiatrist plotting his wife’s murder, opposite longtime friend Joe Moore as Lt. Columbo. The play, written by William Link and Richard Levinson, later became the basis for the Columbo pilot.

White traveled to see the production and shared photographs from the visit afterward, TV Insider reported. Proceeds from the production supported the theater.

In a June 14, 2026, video on X, Sajak jokingly claimed he had moved to Montana while standing beside a pool with palm trees and the ocean behind him. He told viewers he was enjoying life before excusing himself to tend cattle, according to EW.

A cow could be heard mooing offscreen as he stepped away.
