Perez Hilton was transported to a Miami-area hospital after a disturbing livestream prompted multiple viewers to contact authorities.
The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies responded to the celebrity blogger’s Florida home on Tuesday, August 4, after receiving numerous calls from people who believed he was harming himself during the broadcast.
Officials have not publicly disclosed Hilton’s condition, provided a diagnosis or explained what may have led to the incident.
Hilton’s legal name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.

According to Entertainment Weekly’s updated report, graphic excerpts continued circulating on social media after the original TikTok livestream ended. Deputies went to Hilton’s home and spoke with family members who were outside the residence. Authorities determined that Hilton, 48, was alone inside.

The sheriff’s office initially said deputies had “tactically disengaged” while continuing to monitor the situation and support Hilton’s family.
A department spokesperson explained that officers responding to a mental health crisis may create time and distance when there is no immediate danger to other people. Authorities later confirmed that Hilton was safely transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital for medical attention.
The sheriff’s Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals were also involved and provided support and resources to his family. People independently confirmed the hospitalization through the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office.
Hilton’s Representatives Requested Privacy
Before authorities announced that Hilton had been hospitalized, his agents, Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, issued a statement acknowledging the concerning material circulating online. They said they had been attempting to contact Hilton directly and identified his health, safety and family as their primary concerns.
“Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further,” the representatives said in a statement reported by Entertainment Weekly. They also asked the public to respect Hilton’s privacy.
He Experienced Serious Medical Problems Earlier This Year
Hilton spent 21 days in a hospital in March after developing an ulcer, a perforation and severe sepsis following an illness. He later underwent another procedure after doctors discovered a deep vein thrombosis in his right leg.
Hilton publicly discussed those medical emergencies and his recovery, but neither he nor authorities have connected them to the August 4 incident.
