Prince William and Kate Middleton attended Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s wedding on Saturday, but the royal guest list was not the only part of the day that drew attention.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were among the family members at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, where Peter, Princess Anne’s son and Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest grandson, married Sperling in a private ceremony.
Reuters confirmed that King Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, William, Kate, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie were all in attendance.
A separate report later claimed William and Kate had little interaction with Beatrice and Eugenie during the wedding festivities. The claim came from anonymous sourcing and has not been addressed publicly by the palace.
A Private Wedding Put Several Royal Branches Together
People reported that William and Kate arrived at the church with other members of the family, with Kate wearing a cream-colored Roland Mouret look and a matching hat.
Beatrice and Eugenie also attended with their husbands. Reuters named both sisters among the royal guests at the ceremony.
Peter, 48, married Sperling at the Cotswolds church near Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate. Reuters reported that Sperling is a pediatric nurse, while Peter works in sports management and does not carry out official royal duties.

The Distance Claim Came From Anonymous Sources
The claim about the Waleses and the York sisters comes from Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack and was later picked up by Reality Tea and AOL.
Reality Tea reported that one insider claimed the wedding “wasn’t a full family reunion” and said William and Kate were courteous but did not seek out Beatrice and Eugenie.
Another quoted source claimed, “There was no effort to mingle.” The same report alleged that William briefly greeted Beatrice after arriving before moving on.
The report did not include an on-the-record comment from William, Kate, Beatrice, Eugenie, or the palace.
Beatrice and Eugenie Were Already Under Extra Attention
The sisters’ appearance came after a quieter public stretch for both women.
Tatler described the wedding as Beatrice and Eugenie’s first royal event in months and noted that scrutiny around their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, had kept them in the press.
Andrew and Ferguson were not reported among the wedding guests. People also reported before the ceremony that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not expected to attend, after Harry reportedly had not been in close contact with Peter for years.
Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling Married After a 2025 Engagement
People reported that Peter and Sperling made their public debut in May 2024 and announced their engagement in August 2025.
Sperling wore an Emilia Wickstead gown and a Pragnell tiara for the ceremony, according to People. The reception was held at Gatcombe Park.
Peter was previously married to Autumn Kelly, with their divorce finalized in 2021. Sperling was previously married to Antonio St. John Sperling and has a daughter.
