Ricky Martin arrived at the Venice Film Festival on September 4 in a fitted dark T-shirt and loose pleated trousers. Two days later, he stepped out for Hombre al Agua in white Tom Ford.
The 54-year-old singer and actor kept his first Lido appearance casual with dark sunglasses and black shoes. Photographers caught him smiling and flashing a peace sign as he made his way through Venice.
Martin was there with Gael García Bernal’s Hombre al Agua, appearing in the film as Roby and serving as an executive producer. His involvement had been kept quiet until the trailer was released in August.
The September 6 screening brought another first. Martin told AFP that although he has spent decades in front of cameras, this was his first time attending Venice as part of a movie’s cast.
He Arrived at the Lido in a Fitted T-Shirt
Martin wore a dark crew-neck T-shirt cut close through the chest and arms with high-waisted pleated trousers that fell into a wide leg. Dark sunglasses and black shoes finished the September 4 outfit.
The Times of India photographed Martin arriving at the Lido in the look and noted that he skipped a jacket and kept the accessories minimal.
No designer has been publicly identified for the arrival outfit.
He Switched to White Tom Ford for ‘Hombre al Agua’

Martin returned on September 6 in a white double-breasted jacket, matching shirt and dark trousers. British Vogue identified the look as Tom Ford.
Sky TG24 credited Haider Ackermann and described the jacket as white silk with a tiny dot pattern. Martin wore the shirt open at the collar and paired the tailoring with dark trousers and black shoes.

‘Hombre al Agua’ Brought Martin to Venice as a Cast Member
La Biennale di Venezia selected Hombre al Agua for the Venice Spotlight section. García Bernal directed the 116 minute film and co-wrote the screenplay with Mariano Pensotti.
García Bernal plays Camilo, a Cuban lifeguard who saves a wealthy Mexican businessman from drowning. After the rescue, Camilo is brought into the man’s world and eventually discovers that his new life comes with manipulation and control.
Martin plays Roby, an actor hired to portray Camilo in a movie being made inside the story. He told AFP that his part was small, but said he wanted to join the project as soon as García Bernal approached him.
Martin also became an executive producer. His casting was revealed with the trailer on August 24 after being kept under wraps during production. The film heads to the Toronto International Film Festival after Venice and is scheduled to open in Mexican theaters on September 24.
