Ruby Rose is recovering after a painful at-home accident sent her to the hospital with broken ribs.

The Orange Is the New Black and Batwoman actress shared footage of the fall on social media, showing the moment she slipped near her pool while holding a hose. Just Jared reported that Rose said she ended up in the hospital with two broken ribs after the accident.

Rose wrote on Threads that the fall happened suddenly. “One second I’m here talking to you. The next I’m in the hospital with two broken ribs. What a bloody Monday,” she wrote, according to Just Jared.

Rose Said She Fell While Spraying Her Garden

When a fan asked what happened, Rose said she had been “spraying my garden,” according to Just Jared. The video showed her losing her footing near the pool’s edge before hitting the side of her body and falling into the water.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Rose misjudged the ledge of the pool, slammed into a wall and landed in the water.

Rose later wrote over the footage, “RIP to my ribs, and to the rest of my summer. They are broken, multiple,” according to EW.

Rose also wrote that she went “straight to hospital” after the fall, according to EW. The outlet reported that she later mentioned needing to use a breathing machine while recovering from the rib injuries.

Page Six reported that Rose asked followers for book and show recommendations while she recovers.

“I’ve just broken two ribs, falling into my own pool backwards, and you couldn’t pay me to put a bra on, let alone stand up,” Rose wrote on Threads, according to Just Jared.

The Injury Brought Back Memories of Batwoman

Rose also compared the new injury to her past experience on Batwoman. In 2019, she revealed that she had undergone emergency surgery after herniating two discs while filming stunts for the CW series.

At the time, Rose said the injury left her at risk of paralysis if it worsened. Glamour reported in 2019 that she told fans she had been in chronic pain and could not feel her arms before the surgery.

Rose reflected on that earlier injury after the pool accident. Just Jared reported that she questioned how she had returned to work on Batwoman after what she described as breaking her rib and neck.
