Sandra Bullock marked Father’s Day with rare family photos of her late father, John Wilson Bullock, with her children, Louis and Laila.
The Practical Magic star shared the tribute on Instagram, posting throwback images of her dad holding her children when they were younger. Bullock has kept Louis and Laila largely out of the public spotlight, which made the family photos an unusual personal post from the actress.
“He loved me through my goth period… Loved on the loves of my life… And loved our country at 18,” Bullock wrote in the caption, according to People.
She closed the post with, “Happy Heavenly Father’s Day, Dad.” John Wilson Bullock died in September 2018 at 93.

The carousel included a photo of Bullock embracing her father, images of John holding Louis and Laila as babies, and a throwback photo of him in Army uniform. Entertainment Weekly reported that John was a World War II Bronze Star veteran and father of four daughters.
Bullock also shared the photos of John with her children on Instagram Stories, writing, “Loved on the loves of my life,” according to People.
Bullock adopted Louis in 2010 and Laila in 2015. People reported that Louis is now 16 and Laila is 12.
Her Sister Also Posted a Father’s Day Tribute
Bullock’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, also honored their father on Father’s Day. Entertainment Weekly reported that Gesine posted a throwback family photo with John and his daughters.
Gesine previously confirmed John’s death in 2018, writing that he died surrounded by family and friends. She remembered him then as a father, grandfather, veteran and “trickster to the end.”
Bullock Has Kept Family at the Center of Her Work Choices

Bullock has spoken recently about choosing work around her children’s schedule. At CNBC’s Changemakers event in April, she said she was able to take on Practical Magic 2 because production aligned with the time Louis and Laila were out of school, according to Page Six.
