Shilo Sanders was ordering chicken wings in West Palm Beach when a man in line recognized him and brought up his father, Colorado football coach Deion Sanders. Before the food was ready, Shilo was back in his car and driving away.

The former Colorado safety had eaten at Hook Fish & Chicken a few days earlier and liked the food. On this visit, he and his cameraman, Stud, were filming a review.

On November 1, Sanders posted the 16-minute video, “Shilo Gets Pressed in the Hood Doing a Food Review – Hook Fish & Chicken,” on YouTube.

He had been filming Florida food reviews since his rookie spring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His Tampa food tour began in May 2025 with brunch at The Pearl, where he tried the chicken and waffles.

The Argument Moves From the Counter to the Parking Lot

In the parking lot, the man, who said he was from the neighborhood, accused the Sanders family of doing too little for West Palm Beach. Sanders backed away when the man appeared to reach into his vehicle. What he was reaching for was unclear, according to TMZ.

From the driver’s seat, Sanders said he was still trying to make sense of the man’s anger. “I don’t understand what he got against Deion Sanders, but he tripping,” he said.

Sanders said he was worried someone might try to hurt him. If he stayed and had to defend himself, he added, he would also have to deal with the paperwork afterward.

Stud Picks Up the Wings

Sanders asked Stud to call him when the order was ready. He circled back to the restaurant and waited in his car, where Stud joined him with the food, according to EssentiallySports.

Once they were together again, Sanders asked his friend about the neighborhood. Stud, a West Palm Beach native, acknowledged that the area could be rough. He still thought the restaurant served the best chicken around.

Sanders played two seasons at South Carolina before joining his father at Jackson State and following him to Colorado. He signed with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in May 2025. The team waived him during its August roster cuts, according to the Buccaneers.

In a video that August, Sanders thanked his teammates and coaches and said he hoped to get another chance in the NFL. He also credited his parents with encouraging interests he could pursue outside football, including music, acting and modeling.

Shilo already had an acting credit. In 2024, he played his father as a young man in “Prime Time,” the third-season finale of the Starz drama BMF.
