Simone Biles has shared a new medical update nearly two months after revealing that she experienced one of the most frightening health emergencies of her life.
The Olympic gymnast posted a black-and-white photograph of herself wearing medical scrubs and a hair covering alongside her husband, Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens.
Biles explained that Owens accompanied her to an unspecified procedure on July 22, his 31st birthday.
She appeared upbeat in the photograph and joked that she woke up singing BossMan Dlow’s “Talk My S—.”

“His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure,” Biles wrote in the Instagram Story shared July 23, according to PEOPLE. Before the appointment, Biles shared another glimpse of the couple’s celebrations.
She said she had returned from the Dominican Republic the night before Owens’ birthday and discovered that he had surprised her with a bouquet of flowers at their home. Biles and Owens married during a courthouse ceremony in Houston in April 2023 before holding a larger destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas the following month.
Biles Previously Said She Had ‘Almost’ Died
On June 6, Biles posted a photograph showing several hospital identification bands around her wrist and said she had spent the week resting in bed. “Almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week,” she wrote, describing the emergency as possibly the scariest experience of her life.
Biles said the situation felt particularly frightening because Owens was in Indianapolis for football practices when it occurred. Owens signed a one-year contract with the Colts in March.
She thanked the friends and relatives who contacted her, visited and sent flowers during her recovery. Biles said she might explain the experience eventually but did not provide a timeline for doing so.
She Asked Followers to Respect Her Privacy
Biles later traveled to Belize with Owens as part of her recovery. When one social media user questioned why she was sharing vacation photographs without explaining the medical emergency, she replied that she was not ready to discuss it.
She subsequently told another critic that the emergency “could have ended very differently” and that the trip was helping her heal and appreciate being alive, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Owens also defended his wife, writing that life-changing experiences can alter a person’s perspective and asking people to extend greater grace toward others.
Biles Has Gradually Resumed Public Appearances
In the weeks after the emergency, Biles gradually returned to public events and social media activity. She and Owens attended the 2026 ESPYS together in New York City on July 15, eight days before she posted the photograph from her latest procedure.
