Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had one of the biggest names in music perform at their wedding.
Stevie Nicks took the stage during the couple’s July 3 celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
PEOPLE reported that Good Morning America host Robin Roberts, who attended the wedding, confirmed Nicks performed, though she did not reveal which song or songs Nicks sang.
The confirmation added another major music detail to a wedding already covered for its scale, secrecy and guest list. Swift and Kelce married at MSG in a ceremony that guests described as surprisingly intimate despite the size of the venue.
The Performance Was Confirmed After the Wedding
There had already been reports before the ceremony that Nicks was expected to perform. After the wedding, Roberts confirmed the appearance on Good Morning America.
“We can confirm that, yes, Stevie Nicks did perform,” Roberts said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
For now, the detail fans still do not know is what Nicks sang. PEOPLE reported that Roberts did not share a song list.
Roberts appeared on the broadcast with fellow wedding guests George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan. Strahan described the celebration as the couple’s “dream wedding,” while Stephanopoulos said Madison Square Garden had been transformed into “a garden inside the Garden.”
ABC News reported that Stephanopoulos said the event felt “as intimate as it could possibly be given that it was Madison Square Garden.”
Nicks and Swift Go Back Years
Having Nicks perform made sense for Swift personally, not only Nicks is a rock icon, but she has been part of Swift’s life and career for years.
Nicks and Swift have a long public history that goes back to the 2010 Grammy Awards, where they performed together.
PEOPLE noted that Swift has called Nicks a close confidante and praised the Fleetwood Mac legend for her wisdom and support. Nicks later wrote the prologue poem for Swift’s 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department.
Nicks has also spoken warmly about Swift and Kelce’s relationship. PEOPLE previously reported that Nicks praised Kelce in an interview and said she hoped he would stay committed to Swift.
The Wedding’s Unique Roles and Celebrity Guests
Swift and Kelce’s wedding had the scale of a major celebrity event, but several confirmed details kept the ceremony focused on family and close relationships.
Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, Austin Swift served as Taylor’s man of honor, and Jason Kelce was Travis’ best man. The couple did not have a traditional group of bridesmaids or groomsmen.
Reuters reported that Swift and Kelce exchanged self-written vows inside the arena, which was transformed into an indoor garden.
