Sydney Sweeney was photographed crying in character while filming The Housemaid’s Secret in New York on November 4. The 29-year-old actress was working on a street sequence with costars Stephen Kalyn and Michele Morrone.
She is reprising Millie Calloway, the housekeeper at the center of the 2025 thriller The Housemaid. Morrone also returns as Enzo, while Kalyn is among the new additions to the franchise.
Paul Feig is directing again, with screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine returning for the adaptation. The film follows Freida McFadden’s second Housemaid novel, published in 2023.
Lionsgate announced the follow-up in January. The original, which starred Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar alongside Sweeney, went on to earn approximately $400 million worldwide.
Kalyn Walks Away While Morrone Stands Farther Down the Sidewalk

In photographs published by Just Jared, Kalyn moves away carrying a black briefcase, while Morrone stands several paces behind Sweeney. The images do not establish whether the exchange depicts a breakup.
Sweeney wore a dark leather jacket and loose jeans, while Kalyn had on a gray suit with a blue shirt and green tie. Morrone wore a brown jacket over a dark shirt, with his hands in his pockets during part of the sequence.
Sweeney and Morrone had previously filmed a forehead kiss in Hoboken on October 14. Local outlet The Hoboken Girl separately documented crews along Garden Street that morning and reported that neighborhood coffee shop The Hive had closed for filming.

A separate scene filmed five days earlier showed Kalyn holding Sweeney’s face as they kissed on a New York sidewalk. The two were also photographed walking hand in hand. PEOPLE included a photograph from that day’s romantic sequence in its October 31 roundup.
For that shoot, Sweeney wore a tan work jacket over a plaid shirt, wide-leg jeans and black boots. Kalyn wore a dark green suit with a light purple shirt and patterned tie.
Kalyn plays Brock, a lawyer Millie begins dating as she tries to build a more ordinary life, according to TheWrap‘s casting report. He joined the sequel after his breakout role in Prime Video’s Off Campus.

The new job takes Millie into another wealthy household, this time working for Douglas Garrick. She is instructed to stay away from his wife, who remains behind a closed door, but the arrangement draws her into secrets that threaten her own carefully guarded past.
Paul Anthony Kelly plays Douglas, with Kirsten Dunst as his wife, Wendy. Brittany Snow joins the cast as Marybeth, as Entertainment Weekly documents in its guide to the sequel.
Lionsgate has scheduled The Housemaid’s Secret for theatrical release on December 17, 2027.
