Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Rings Don’t Match Exactly, Jewelers Say That’s the Point

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce did not choose identical wedding rings, but jewelers say the newlyweds found a subtler way to make their bands feel like a pair.

New close-up photos have given jewelry experts their clearest look yet at Swift’s curved, diamond-accented wedding band and Kelce’s wider gold ring. Although the two pieces have noticeably different silhouettes, experts see connections in their yellow-gold construction, textured finishes and detailed craftsmanship.

That has led jewelers to describe the rings as complementary rather than traditionally matching. Page Six spoke with jewelry experts who said the shared design language allows the bands to feel connected while still reflecting the couple’s individual styles.

The closer examination comes more than a month after Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden on July 3. Their bands were first seen publicly the following week, but photographs from separate August 15 appearances provided much clearer views of the details.

Swift’s Wedding Band Curves Around Her Engagement Ring

Swift’s band is not a conventional straight wedding ring. Experts who examined the photographs for ELLE described it as a contour design that follows the shape of her engagement ring and allows the two pieces to sit closely together.

The jewelers estimated that the band is approximately 2 to 3 millimeters wide and likely made from 18K yellow gold, matching the metal used in her engagement ring. Olivia Landau, founder and CEO of The Clear Cut, also noted what appears to be a flat, brushed finish.

Diamonds cover at least part of the band, but photographs do not reveal enough of the underside to establish exactly how far they extend. Experts variously described the design as a half, partial or possibly three-quarter eternity band.

The Diamonds Appear Designed to Frame Her Larger Stone

Instead of competing with Swift’s much larger engagement diamond, the smaller stones on the wedding band appear positioned to frame it. ELLE’s jewelry experts said the curve allows the diamonds to rise around the lower portion of the old mine cut center stone while keeping the engagement ring as the focal point.

Estimates of the wedding band’s total diamond weight vary because the experts are working from photographs. Ali Galgano of Serpentine Jewels placed it at approximately 1 to 1.5 total carats if the diamonds continue substantially around the band, while Zales executive Angie Kennedy estimated roughly 0.5 to 1 carat.

Experts see signs of engraving, antiqued or hand-worked texture and low-profile diamond settings, but the designer of Swift’s wedding band has not been publicly identified.

Kelce’s Wider Gold Band Appears to Echo Swift’s

Landau told ELLE that his ring looks approximately 4 to 5 millimeters wide, with a brushed gold finish and what appears to be engraved detailing that echoes Swift’s band. The exact pattern cannot be confirmed from photographs, but the broader shape gives Kelce’s ring a substantially different profile.

Galgano similarly noted that both rings have enough texture and detailing to distinguish them from generic gold bands. Kelce’s is broader and heavier, while Swift’s remains delicate and diamond-focused.

PEOPLE described them as matching bands when both were photographed on August 15, but jewelry experts examining the designs more closely have emphasized that they are not identical. Instead, their apparent shared yellow gold, finishes and craftsmanship create a visual relationship between two otherwise individual designs. One expert described the approach to ELLE as “complementary without being super matchy.”

The Clearest Ring Photos Came Thousands of Miles Apart

Swift and Kelce actually debuted their wedding rings together on July 10, one week after their own ceremony, when they attended the wedding of Chiefs player JuJu Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk in Southern California. Those photographs established that both newlyweds were wearing gold bands, but the finer details were difficult to distinguish.

That changed on August 15, when Swift and Kelce were photographed at separate events thousands of miles apart. Swift attended the wedding of recording engineers Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk at Real World Studios in England, where her wedding band was clearly visible alongside her engagement ring.

Kelce was meanwhile back in Kansas City for the Chiefs’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams at Arrowhead Stadium. Photographs of his arrival provided a close look at the wider gold band on his left hand.

Experts Are Not Sure About the Price

Putting a reliable value on Swift’s wedding band is difficult without knowing its exact materials, diamond grades, gold weight or whether it was custom made.

Kennedy placed a comparable natural-diamond band in solid 14K or 18K gold at approximately $2,000 to $5,000, while Galgano estimated that a bespoke fine-jewelry version with higher-quality stones and significant handwork could cost roughly $8,000 to $15,000 or more.

Several jewelers were reluctant to put any price on it based solely on photographs, arguing that craftsmanship could matter as much as carat weight in a ring like Swift’s.
