Tiger Woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, posed together for a family photograph as their son Charlie celebrated his commitment to play golf at Florida State University.

The 17-year-old joined classmates at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, for a college commitment ceremony on Friday, November 6.

Woods, 50, and Nordegren, 46, divorced in 2010. They have continued attending their children’s sporting milestones.

Nordegren’s boyfriend, former NFL player Jordan Cameron, also attended with their three children.

Woods wore a Florida State T-shirt and a black baseball cap, while Nordegren matched the university’s colors in a maroon dress, according to PEOPLE. Charlie stood between them wearing a white Seminoles cap.

His father applauded during the ceremony and gave him a fist bump afterward, The Palm Beach Post reported.

The school celebration took place ahead of the formal signing period. The NCAA lists November 11 as the first date recruits in golf and other applicable Division I and II sports can sign athletics aid agreements.

Charlie announced his decision on Instagram on February 10, writing, “Excited to announce my commitment to play golf at Florida State University — go Noles!” Woods responded in the comments by congratulating his son and expressing pride in his next chapter.

As the PGA Tour reported, Charlie plans to begin playing for the Seminoles in fall 2027. His recruiting class includes Miles Russell, another leading junior golfer, and he will join a program led by coach Trey Jones.

The choice takes him to a different university from his father, who played at Stanford before turning professional.

Charlie’s junior record includes a victory at the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025. On November 2, he shot a 1-under-par 70 at Miami Shores Country Club to help Benjamin win a regional championship.

He entered the weekend ranked 133rd in the American Junior Golf Association’s Rolex Rankings.

Woods and Nordegren Have Celebrated Other Golf Milestones Together

On February 24, both parents attended a ring ceremony recognizing Benjamin’s 2025 Class 1A state championship. As Golf Monthly reported, Charlie and his teammates received rings commemorating the victory.

Nordegren also attended the December 2024 PNC Championship in Orlando, where Woods played alongside Charlie and their daughter Sam served as caddie.

The father and son first competed together in that event in 2020. Afterward, Woods described their time on the course as “memories for a lifetime.”

Watching Charlie choose a college has brought back other memories for Woods. At the 2025 Hero World Challenge, he recalled recruitment letters arriving in his mailbox. Today’s coaches can reach players and their families almost immediately by cellphone, a change he described as striking when comparing their experiences.
