Whitney Leavitt says another Broadway appearance is already approaching, less than three months after she completed her extended run in Chicago.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star posted a muted video of herself singing through Instagram Stories on July 24.
“Your girl is gunna be back on Broadway soon,” she wrote over the clip. One possibility already discussed publicly is another engagement in Chicago.
Leavitt has said that she would be interested in returning to the long-running revival as Velma Kelly after making her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart.

The brief Instagram Story showed Leavitt singing with the audio removed, preventing viewers from hearing what she was performing. She added playful emojis but provided no clues about whether the footage came from an audition, rehearsal or private vocal session.

She Wants to Try Velma Kelly if She Returns to ‘Chicago’
During a June appearance on Trisha Paytas’ Just Trish podcast, Leavitt was asked whether she would consider returning to Chicago. “I feel like if I did, I would want to play Velma,” she said. Leavitt added that she would like another celebrity performer to take over as Roxie, calling the potential pairing “pretty iconic.”
Velma and Roxie are rival murder defendants who compete for the attention of the press and attorney Billy Flynn. Moving into the Velma role would give Leavitt different songs, choreography and comic material from those she performed during her debut.
Her Broadway Debut Set a New ‘Chicago’ Box-Office Record
Leavitt began playing Roxie at the Ambassador Theatre on February 2. Her initial six-week engagement was scheduled to conclude on March 15, but ticket demand resulted in two extensions that kept her with the production through May 3.
For the week ending March 15, Chicago grossed $1,457,930.77 across eight performances. The total surpassed the revival’s previous weekly record, which had been set during a nine-performance holiday week in December 2023.
Leavitt’s first six weeks generated $8,049,526.31 in ticket sales. Her former Dancing With the Stars partner Mark Ballas joined her as Billy Flynn for the final four weeks, from April 6 through May 3.

Leavitt used her final performance as Roxie to announce that she was leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. During the character’s newspaper monologue, she read a headline declaring her departure as the audience reacted.
She clarified in a subsequent statement that she will appear in Season 5, but that it will be her final season on the Hulu series. Leavitt said she felt ready to close that chapter after the show led to opportunities including Dancing With the Stars and her Broadway debut.
