Zendaya apparently was not upset when longtime stylist Law Roach publicly revealed that she and Tom Holland had married.
Roach said the actress “thought it was funny” after his comments about the couple’s wedding made headlines in March. He discussed her reaction during the Sept. 22 episode of Outlaws with TS Madison, according to Page Six.
Since that original reveal, Roach has repeatedly changed his answer about whether the wedding happened and when, including later claiming that he had lied. He now says some of those conflicting answers are intentional because he does not believe people should use him to obtain details about Zendaya’s private life.
Roach has worked with Zendaya since she was 14 and describes their relationship as extending well beyond fashion. Holland, meanwhile, has been considerably clearer about their marital status, publicly referring to Zendaya as his wife and confirming that his family attended their wedding.
Zendaya ‘Thought It Was Funny’ After Roach Revealed the Marriage
TS Madison asked whether Zendaya had given Roach any grief over publicly discussing her marriage. Roach said she had not and instead found the situation amusing.
He also joked that he was still “slightly spilling the tea,” without providing a definitive timeline for when Zendaya and Holland exchanged vows.
Roach told People that Zendaya has never asked him to change his personality or behave differently in public as her fame has grown. Their professional partnership began when she was a teenager and has continued through many of the most prominent fashion moments of her career.
Roach Says He Deliberately Gives Different Answers About the Wedding
Roach said he does not believe reporters are entitled to details about Zendaya’s personal life simply because of his closeness to her, and he warned that questions about the marriage may continue producing unreliable answers from him.
During a Sept. 17 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Jennifer Hudson confronted him about the changing stories and asked whether he would ever tell the truth about the wedding.
“No,” Roach replied, before explaining that whatever happened between Zendaya and Holland was their business to share.
Three days earlier at the Emmys, Roach had claimed that he “actually lied” when he announced their marriage in March and said they had not yet held an “official” ceremony. He also acknowledged at the time that his newest explanation might not be reliable either.
Tom Holland Has Publicly Confirmed They Are Married
Holland provided a clearer indication of their marital status while discussing AI-generated wedding photographs that circulated online earlier this year.
He recalled that his grandmother briefly believed the fake images were genuine and worried that she had somehow been excluded from the ceremony. When asked whether he needed to reassure other relatives, Holland said he did not because they had all been there.
He declined to reveal further details about the wedding but has since referred to Zendaya publicly as his wife. Both actors have also been photographed wearing wedding bands.
The couple later held a private celebration on Aug. 4 at the Beaverbrook hotel in Surrey, England. People reported that the event brought together close family and friends after Zendaya and Holland had privately married earlier in the year.
Zendaya and Holland have otherwise continued keeping details of their marriage largely private, leaving Roach free to keep changing his answer whenever someone asks him for more.
