Ari Emanuel no longer has to map out Meghan Markle’s career, and the Hollywood power broker made that clear with a remarkably short answer. Emanuel was asked about the Duchess of Sussex while promoting his memoir, Roll the Calls, after previously being one of the high-profile agents attached to her representation at WME.
Asked where he believed Meghan’s career was heading, Emanuel told The Sunday Times, “Here’s the great thing: I don’t have to think about that any more.” The outlet said Emanuel and Meghan had parted ways the previous year.
His personal departure from her account did not end Meghan’s relationship with the agency itself. PEOPLE reported that WME confirmed on September 30 that it continues to represent both Meghan and Archewell Productions.
Meghan continues weighing new entertainment opportunities. She has been linked to a possible role in the third season of Netflix’s The Gentlemen, although trade reporting says those discussions were preliminary and no casting agreement had been finalized.

Meghan signed with WME in April 2023, with Emanuel, Brad Slater and Jill Smoller among the names initially connected to her team. The agency’s work was designed to extend beyond acting, with representation covering film and television production, brand partnerships and other business ventures while WME also represented Archewell.
Variety reported in March that Meghan’s primary focus at the agency had become building her As Ever business. The trade publication said agency sources still identified Jill Smoller as part of Meghan’s team and confirmed that WME continued representing both the duchess and Archewell Productions.
The Sunday Times said Emanuel and Meghan “parted ways last year,” placing their separation in 2025. Variety, however, reported earlier this year that Emanuel and Slater had dropped off Meghan’s account within three months of her signing with WME in April 2023. Neither Emanuel nor Meghan has publicly provided a detailed account of why his direct involvement ended.
Her Possible ‘The Gentlemen’ Role Is Still Unconfirmed
Meghan’s next major entertainment move has not yet been settled. Variety confirmed in August that she was in very early discussions about joining Season 3 of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen, but the potential role had not been identified and no contract was in place.
The status became even less definitive when Netflix officially renewed the series days later. Variety subsequently reported that Season 3 was still in pre-production, scripts had not yet been finalized and new casting had not been completed despite the reports linking Meghan to the show.
If a deal eventually materializes, the project would represent Meghan’s most substantial scripted acting role since her years as Rachel Zane on Suits.
