Bam Margera will not attend the upcoming Hollywood premiere of Jackass: Best and Last, even though he was invited to the event, according to TMZ.
The report says Margera received a ticket to the premiere for the final Jackass movie, but he is unable to go because of a prior commitment. TMZ also reported that Margera is not fully ready for a reunion with the franchise after his long-running fallout with Johnny Knoxville, director Jeff Tremaine, Paramount and the broader Jackass team.
His absence does not mean he is completely outside the movie. Margera is expected to appear in Jackass: Best and Last through old, never-before-seen footage after a deal was reached earlier this year allowing producers to use archival material featuring him.
Margera Is Reportedly Skipping the Premiere, but His Parents May Attend
TMZ reported that Margera’s parents, Phil and April Margera, are expected to be at the premiere in his place. Both were familiar faces to longtime Jackass viewers through the original franchise and Margera’s related MTV projects.
The premiere invite is notable because Margera’s relationship with the franchise has been publicly strained for years. His name remains closely tied to Jackass, but the new report makes clear that a full public reunion is not happening at the premiere.
Margera is still said to be rooting for the movie’s success. TMZ’s report says he wants the film to do well, even though he will not be standing with the cast at the event.
His Role in the Movie Comes From Older Footage

Margera’s participation in Jackass: Best and Last is limited to previously shot material. In January, TMZ reported that a deal had been reached to clear old, never-before-seen footage of Margera for the movie.
Days later, Margera told TMZ he would not film new stunts for the project. He said his appearance would come from older footage rather than fresh material shot with the current cast.
That arrangement allows the final movie to include one of the franchise’s original stars without requiring a new on-set reunion between Margera, Knoxville and Tremaine.
The Final Jackass Movie Arrives in June
Jackass: Best and Last is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26 through Paramount Pictures. The movie’s official site describes it as one final big-screen outing for Johnny Knoxville and the crew, with all-new stunts alongside franchise highlights.
Knoxville has described the new film as the end of the road for the movie series. In a Rolling Stone interview covered by People, he said the upcoming movie would be the last one and called it the natural place for the franchise to end.
The film follows Jackass Forever, which brought Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Dave England, Preston Lacy and other franchise regulars back to theaters in 2022.
The Fallout Still Shapes the Story
Margera’s split from the franchise became public during the production period around Jackass Forever. TMZ previously reported that he was removed from that movie after allegedly violating contract terms connected to sobriety requirements.
Margera later sued Paramount, Knoxville and Tremaine over his firing. TMZ reported in 2022 that the lawsuit had been settled.
The new premiere report shows that the situation has not turned into a clean public reunion, even with Margera’s old footage included in the final film. For fans who followed the franchise from MTV to theaters, Best and Last now carries two separate storylines: the farewell to Jackass as a movie franchise, and the unresolved distance between one of its original stars and the team that made it famous.
