Maria Bartiromo has spoken publicly for the first time since Fox News Media announced her abrupt departure, but she is not explaining what happened yet.
One week after Fox said she was no longer with the company, Bartiromo shared a photograph of a rainbow on September 10 and thanked people for the messages she had received. “I love you all,” she wrote before adding, “More to come,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
The message arrived one day before Bartiromo’s 59th birthday and was her first public response since Fox News Media announced on September 3 that her 12-and-a-half-year run with the organization had ended effective immediately.
What followed that announcement has been less straightforward. Fox says Bartiromo is no longer with Fox News Media, while her attorney, Bryan Freedman, says reports that she was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are “absolutely and unequivocally false.”
Bartiromo Thanked Supporters but Did Not Explain What Happened
Bartiromo’s September 10 message focused on the response she has received since Fox announced the split.
“I can’t thank you all enough for the outpouring of love and support on social media and through private messages,” she wrote alongside the rainbow photograph, which she said she had taken herself.
She did not say why she stopped appearing on Fox, address the disagreement between her attorney and the network or identify what she plans to do next. Her closing “More to come” was the only indication that she intends to say more publicly.
Bartiromo had already been absent from the air for weeks before the September 3 announcement. Reuters reported that her last appearance was August 9, while Fox’s own archive shows her hosting Sunday Morning Futures that day. She had also appeared on Fox Business earlier that week.
Fox and Bartiromo’s Lawyer Are Giving Different Accounts

Fox’s September 3 announcement was brief and direct. “Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media,” the company said in its official statement.
“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” Fox added. The company did not publicly provide a reason for the decision.
Freedman challenged reports about the departure the following day. He said claims that Bartiromo had been fired or was no longer an employee of Fox were “absolutely and unequivocally false.”
“We have receipts and witnesses,” Freedman said, adding that they could emerge “through the courthouse or otherwise.”
Fox subsequently stood by its original announcement when asked about Freedman’s statement. Reuters reported that a Fox spokesperson characterized Bartiromo’s departure as a “business decision,” without giving further details.
Fox Has Already Reworked All Three of Her Shows
Fox moved quickly to change the programming Bartiromo had hosted across Fox Business and Fox News.
Her weekday morning program, Mornings with Maria, became Mornings with FOX Business, with rotating anchors. Fox also renamed her weekly Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street as FBN’s Wall Street, initially putting Cheryl Casone in the host chair before moving to a rotating lineup.
On Fox News, former Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz took over Sunday Morning Futures on an interim basis. Fox said a permanent host would be announced later.
Bartiromo joined Fox in 2014 after more than two decades at CNBC and became one of the company’s most prominent business and political interviewers. At Fox she eventually hosted programming across weekday mornings, Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.
She has not announced another television position or given a date for whatever she meant by “More to come.”
