Jay-Z opened his anniversary concert run at Yankee Stadium with a family surprise, bringing Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter onstage during the first night of the series.
People reported that the rapper kicked off the shows on Friday, July 10, in New York City with surprise performances from his wife and eldest daughter.
Just Jared reported that Beyoncé appeared during “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” one of the signature tracks from Jay-Z’s 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt.

“Can’t Knock the Hustle” originally featured Mary J. Blige, but Beyoncé stepped in for the part during Friday’s show. People reported that she belted the song while moving across the stage as the Yankee Stadium crowd cheered.
Jay-Z appeared pleased with the surprise, joking, “Oh, she can sing,” after Beyoncé finished. She then told the audience, “Give it up for my baby,” as the crowd responded to the couple’s onstage exchange.

The family moment continued when Blue Ivy joined Jay-Z during “Feelin’ It,” another song from Reasonable Doubt. People reported that the 14-year-old performed the piano solo at the end of the track.
Jay-Z then called her “the legendary Blue Ivy Carter” before the two shared a long embrace onstage.
The Concert Celebrated Reasonable Doubt
Just Jared reported that Friday night’s concert commemorated the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, the 1996 album that introduced him as one of New York rap’s defining voices.
Saturday’s concert celebrates the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint, while the run closes with a Sunday “Extra Innings” show. Wired reported that the mini-residency was originally planned as two shows before a third night was added after the first two sold out quickly.
Wired also reported that Friday’s show featured a bare stage, a massive screen, a 10-person band and an 18-piece string section, keeping the focus on Jay-Z, the music and the surprise guests.
Blue Ivy Has Become Comfortable on Big Stages
People noted that she previously joined Beyoncé on the Renaissance World Tour in 2023 and the Cowboy Carter World Tour in 2025.
Jay-Z told GQ earlier this year that Blue Ivy has strong musical instincts and “perfect pitch,” saying she can teach herself songs by ear.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z also share 9-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.
