Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun are back in Venice, this time with considerably less mystery surrounding why they are together.
The couple spent September 3 moving through the city’s canals on a gondola, where photographers captured Sweeney leaning across to kiss Braun with her hands on his face. Other photographs showed them sitting close together, holding hands and walking through Venice side by side, according to Fox News.
The location carries some history for them. Sweeney and Braun first crossed paths in Venice during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos’ wedding celebrations in June 2025, and PEOPLE later reported that they began dating that September. What started with sightings and source reports has since become a relationship both are willing to acknowledge publicly.
About a year after they started dating, the couple have returned to the city openly affectionate. They have appeared on each other’s social media, traveled together and spoken more freely about the relationship, turning the new Venice photographs into less of a reveal and more of a full circle moment.
The Gondola Ride Put Their Relationship on Full Display

Sweeney wore a white mini dress with a yellow cardigan draped across her shoulders for the daytime outing, while Braun paired a white button down shirt with blue shorts and a backward baseball cap. On the gondola, Sweeney leaned toward Braun for a kiss and held his face in her hands, while other photographs showed the pair sitting pressed close together as they moved through the canals.
The couple continued the outing on foot, smiling and holding hands as they walked through Venice. Sweeney is in the city during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival as an Armani Beauty ambassador, with the brand serving as the festival’s official beauty sponsor.
PEOPLE also photographed the gondola kiss on September 3, while Page Six reported that the Venice trip came only days after Sweeney spent time in Los Angeles with Braun’s children. The increasingly public outings are a considerable change from the early months of the relationship, when most of what was known came through photographs and unnamed sources.
Venice Was Where Their Connection First Became Public
Sweeney and Braun first attracted attention together during Bezos and Sánchez Bezos’ wedding celebrations in Venice in June 2025. PEOPLE later reported that the pair began dating in September, initially describing the relationship as casual before a source said in December that they were “in a committed relationship” and that things had become serious.
Their appearances became steadily harder to miss. They were photographed holding hands, attended events together and appeared around the Euphoria Season 3 premiere before their relationship moved onto social media. Braun shared a photograph of the two on Instagram Stories on April 15, and Sweeney followed on May 1 with her first grid post featuring him.
That Stagecoach carousel included photographs of Braun holding Sweeney, photo booth pictures and images of him carrying her during performances. PEOPLE reported that Sweeney captioned the collection “cowboy kind of weekend,” making the romance considerably more public than it had been during the previous months.
Braun Later Called the Relationship One of His Biggest Surprises

Braun became more direct about his personal life during a May appearance on Suzy Weiss’ Second Thought podcast. He did not name Sweeney during the relevant exchange, but described meeting an “extraordinary woman” who was kind, generous, smart, real and down to earth, calling the relationship “one of the biggest surprises ever,” as Variety reported.
He also acknowledged watching Euphoria and joked that he was biased before praising “a certain actress” for an incredible performance. Elsewhere in the interview, Braun said he was enjoying his relationship, his children, his friends and a quieter stage of his life after stepping away from music management.
Sweeney has continued sharing parts of their relationship on her own terms. The pair have appeared together in social posts and on trips throughout the summer, making the September return to Venice very different from the period when audiences were still trying to work out whether they were dating at all.
Their Latest Trip Comes After Another Family Milestone
The Venice photographs arrived shortly after Sweeney was seen spending time with Braun’s children in Los Angeles. Braun shares three children with his former wife, Yael Cohen, and current reporting described Sweeney joining two of them during a casual outing before the couple traveled to Italy.
The relationship has therefore moved through several increasingly public stages in roughly a year, from early sightings to Instagram posts, Braun’s first public comments and time with his family.
