Brad Pitt spent as many as 12 hours celebrating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, where the size of the reception briefly separated him from Ines de Ramon on the dance floor.
The 62-year-old actor recalled the July 3 celebration while promoting Heart of the Beast on September 16. Asked about the incident, Pitt first joked, “You mean the wedding of the century?” according to PEOPLE.
Pitt estimated that he and de Ramon spent 10 or possibly 12 hours at Madison Square Garden and remembered the night as carefully planned, emotional and unusually large.
The couple attended the wedding in coordinated black looks, with Pitt in a tuxedo and de Ramon wearing a semi-sheer lace dress. Their appearance came nearly four years after they were first publicly linked.
Pitt Briefly Lost De Ramon on the Dance Floor
Pitt was speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Heart of the Beast premiere in Tennessee when the interviewer asked whether reports that he had lost de Ramon during the reception were true.
“At one point, I lost her in the melee, on the dance floor,” Pitt said. The separation did not last long. When asked how he found her, he explained that people nearby simply pointed him in the right direction.
Pitt also praised the celebration itself, calling it “really moving” and describing the amount of planning behind it. His estimate that he remained at the wedding for up to 12 hours gave some indication of how long the festivities continued.
Guests Were Asked to Put Away Their Phones
Swift and Kelce asked guests to keep their phones put away during the celebration. Travis later explained on New Heights that the policy helped guests stay present rather than thinking about cameras or documenting the night.
Jason Kelce recalled looking around the reception and seeing people from very different parts of the couple’s lives together in the same room. He remembered Pitt embracing Conan O’Brien with Paul McCartney nearby, while longtime friends and relatives mixed with the celebrity guests.
Travis said he and Swift wanted people from different stages of their lives to have the chance to meet and spend time together. Pitt did not connect the phone policy to losing de Ramon and attributed the moment simply to the size and activity of the dance floor.
Few images from inside the celebration have been made public, leaving guest accounts as some of the most detailed glimpses of what happened during the reception.
Pitt and De Ramon Attended His New Film Premiere Together
De Ramon was beside Pitt when he told the wedding story at the September 16 global premiere of Heart of the Beast in Franklin, Tennessee. She wore a tiered peach dress, while Pitt appeared in a camouflage suit inspired by the film’s military setting.
Their wedding appearance also produced a rare social media moment. Hairstylist Laurie Zanoletti and makeup artist Charlie Riddle shared behind-the-scenes photographs of the couple preparing for the event, and de Ramon reposted one image to her Instagram Stories with a red heart while Swift’s “Lover” played.
Pitt and de Ramon were first publicly linked in 2022 and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Venice Film Festival in 2024. They have since appeared together at several major events, including both U.S. Open singles finals in New York earlier this month.
Directed by David Ayer, Heart of the Beast stars Pitt as former Special Forces officer James Belmont, who becomes stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with his combat dog after a plane crash. The film opens in U.S. theaters on September 25.
