Bryson DeChambeau’s latest relationship is no longer just a golf-fan theory. The two-time U.S. Open champion is dating Canadian model and former hockey goalie Mikayla Demaiter after several social-media clues put the pair under scrutiny earlier this month.
Us Weekly confirmed the relationship on August 19, with a source describing it as fairly new and saying DeChambeau, 32, and Demaiter, 26, are “very happy.” The source also noted that both tend to keep their relationships private.
TMZ subsequently reported that it had independently confirmed the two are dating. Neither DeChambeau nor Demaiter has personally announced the relationship, but the reports arrived after fans spent days pointing to Demaiter’s presence around LIV Golf and social-media posts they believed connected her more closely to DeChambeau.
Us Weekly reports that Demaiter plans to continue supporting him at events, potentially including LIV Golf Indianapolis, which begins August 20 at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana.
The Dating Rumors Started at LIV Golf New York

Demaiter attracted attention earlier in August when she attended LIV Golf New York at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. Although held in Bedminster, the August 6-9 tournament was officially branded by the league as LIV Golf New York. She was spotted wearing a LIV Golf guest pass and a Crushers GC hat, representing the team DeChambeau captains.
The theories grew after Demaiter shared additional social-media photographs. One showed her posing in front of a large closet filled with sneakers, clothing and hats, prompting fans to speculate that she might be at DeChambeau’s home. Fans also noticed that DeChambeau follows Demaiter on Instagram.
The Relationship Is Reportedly Still Fairly New
The exact timeline of when DeChambeau and Demaiter began dating has not been disclosed. Us Weekly’s source described the relationship as “fairly new” and emphasized that both are private when it comes to their personal lives.
Demaiter’s support came during a successful weekend for DeChambeau’s team. Crushers GC won LIV Golf New York, giving the team a record-setting 11th regular-season LIV tournament title and making it the winningest team in league history.
DeChambeau was not the driving force behind that particular victory individually. He finished tied for 38th, while Paul Casey led the Crushers with a tie for sixth.
The next stop is LIV Golf Indianapolis from August 20-23. Us Weekly says Demaiter plans to continue supporting DeChambeau at events and specifically identified Indianapolis as a likely appearance.
Mikayla Demaiter Built a New Career After Leaving Hockey
Before becoming a model and social-media personality, Demaiter played goaltender for the Bluewater Hawks in Canada’s Provincial Women’s Hockey League. Us Weekly reports that an injury forced her to retire from competitive hockey at age 19.
She subsequently built a much larger audience online. Demaiter has more than three million Instagram followers and approximately 2.7 million on TikTok, where her content now centers largely on modeling and lifestyle posts.
She has not completely left her former sport behind. Demaiter still incorporates hockey into some of her social-media content and has returned to the ice in goalie equipment for videos, including a 2024 post in which she joked that she was still “a keeper.” TMZ also notes that Demaiter previously dated former NHL player Kurtis Gabriel.
DeChambeau Has Mostly Kept His Dating Life Private
DeChambeau has similarly avoided making his relationships a major part of his public image. His former girlfriend Hunter Nugent confirmed in 2022 that they were no longer together after confusion over the identity of a woman photographed with him at a LIV Golf event. That woman was golfer and social-media personality Lilia Schneider, who was subsequently linked to DeChambeau for several years.
