Camila Mendes is looking back at her red carpet history with enough distance to name the look she still loves and the one she would rather leave behind.
The Riverdale alum, 31, reflected on her best and least favorite red carpet moments while playing Who What Wear’s “Truth or Wear.” People reported that Mendes did not name the exact event behind her “cringiest” look, but said the outfit stood out because it “didn’t feel like me.”
Her Favorite Look Was the Tamara Ralph Gown

Mendes had a clear answer when asked about her favorite red carpet look.
She pointed to the Tamara Ralph gown she wore to the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. People reported that Mendes described the look as a sculptural gold bra with a black velvet skirt.
The gown came from Tamara Ralph’s Spring 2024 Couture collection. Red Carpet Fashion Awards described it as a black velvet mermaid gown with an ornate gold crystal roses bodice.
She Did Not Name the Outfit She Regrets
Mendes did not identify the event behind her least favorite look.
People reported that she called it a “big event” and said the outfit was not necessarily ugly. Her issue was more personal: it did not feel like her.
That is the useful part of the quote. Mendes was not dragging a designer or naming a worst-dressed moment. She was describing what it feels like to wear something that may photograph fine but does not match the person wearing it.
The Comment Comes During Her Masters Press Run
Mendes is currently promoting Masters of the Universe, where she plays Teela opposite Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam and He-Man.
Who What Wear described the movie as the largest stage Mendes has occupied since her breakout years as Veronica Lodge on Riverdale.
The role has also put Mendes back into a heavy red carpet cycle, with premiere looks and press-tour styling drawing extra attention.
She Has Been Building More Control After Riverdale
Mendes has moved through several projects since Riverdale, including Do Revenge, Upgraded, and Música.
She has also co-founded the production company Honor Role with Rachel Matthews. In her Who What Wear cover story, Mendes said the company reconnected her to her own autonomy and gave her another way to create projects when she was not seeing the right roles in the industry.
That context makes her red carpet answer sharper. Mendes is not only choosing roles differently. She is also more aware of whether the image around those roles feels like her.
Her favorite look gave her that feeling. The unnamed outfit did not.
