Cara Delevingne has addressed years of speculation about her relationship with Amber Heard, saying the two became romantically involved while Heard was going through her divorce from Johnny Depp.
The model and actress discussed Heard on The Louis Theroux Podcast. Entertainment Weekly reported that Delevingne described the relationship by saying she and Heard were “entangled.”
Delevingne also said nothing romantic was happening during the earlier period when she, Heard and Depp were connected to London Fields.
Heard filed for divorce from Depp in May 2016, and the former couple reached a $7 million divorce settlement that August, according to People.

Delevingne told Theroux that she and Heard had been close before their relationship changed during the divorce period. “We were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose,” she said, according to EW.
Theroux asked whether she meant a short-lived romantic or physical relationship. EW reported that Delevingne first said “I suppose,” then corrected herself: “No, I don’t suppose. I know. Yeah.”
Delevingne also said Heard was “entangled with other people” at the time. When Theroux suggested Elon Musk, EW reported that Delevingne replied, “There you go.” Representatives for Heard, Depp and Musk did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.

The podcast also returned to London Fields, the film that brought Delevingne, Heard and Depp into the same orbit before Heard filed for divorce. People reported that production on the movie ran from 2013 to 2015, while EW noted that the film was eventually released in 2018 after years of legal issues.
Theroux brought up the long-running claim that Depp had been jealous over Heard and Delevingne. Delevingne said Depp was “pretty driven crazy by jealousy,” but she also said nothing romantic was happening with Heard at that point.
“Nothing was happening at that point,” Delevingne said, according to EW. “Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose… No, I don’t suppose. I know. Yeah.”
The 2016 London Outing Started Years of Rumors
Heard and Delevingne were publicly linked in 2016 after Heard reached her divorce settlement with Depp. People reported at the time that Heard went out in London with Delevingne, Margot Robbie and other friends days after the settlement.
The group went to a Rolling Stones exhibition, had dinner at the Ivy Kensington Brasserie and later went to Chiltern Firehouse, according to People’s 2016 report.
EW reported that those sightings helped fuel speculation about Heard and Delevingne for years. Delevingne’s podcast interview is the first time she has publicly confirmed that the relationship became romantic.
The Comments Revisit a Highly Scrutinized Period
Heard and Depp’s divorce and later defamation case became one of Hollywood’s most closely watched legal stories. People reported that Depp sued Heard in 2019 over her 2018 Washington Post op-ed, and the 2022 trial ended with a jury finding Heard liable for defamation and awarding Depp $10.35 million in damages.
Heard won one claim in her countersuit and was awarded $2 million. People reported that both sides appealed before later settling, with Heard agreeing to pay Depp $1 million and Depp pledging to donate the money to charity.
EW reported that Heard now lives in Madrid with her three children: Oonagh and twins Agnes and Ocean.
