Cardi B says people urging her to reduce the size of her butt are several years behind her actual surgery timeline.
During a recent Instagram Live, the 33-year-old rapper confirmed that she underwent another procedure in January 2024 to remove more of the biopolymer injections she received when she was 21.
Cardi also made clear that she currently likes her appearance. She said another significant reduction would require a more invasive operation and a recovery period she is unwilling to accept.

“A lot of y’all keep telling me to go get my ass reduced,” she said. “I don’t need to go get my ass reduced. News flash, I did get my ass reduced.” The “I Like It” rapper identified January 2024 as the last time she underwent surgery and said she has had “two lipos and one ass reduction.”
She linked the decision to her naturally petite frame. “First thing first, I am a small girl,” Cardi said. “I’m a very small, petite girl. My mom is petite. My sister’s petite. My aunts are small.”
The January Surgery Was Part of a Longer Removal Process
Cardi has previously said she received biopolymer injections at age 21. She began publicly discussing their removal years later and warned fans against undergoing the same procedure.
During a December 2022 Instagram Live, she said surgeons had removed approximately 95% of the biopolymers that August. Cardi revealed another round of surgery in September 2024, explaining that the January procedure had removed additional material and addressed fibrosis.
“It takes rounds to get your butt injections removed,” she said at the time. “I got some of my butt injections removed, and I also went to fix, like, you know, certain things with my fibrosis.”
The Food and Drug Administration has not approved injectable silicone for body contouring. The agency warns that the material can migrate and cause complications including infection, scarring, tissue damage, blocked blood vessels, stroke and death.
She Considered Another Reduction After Her Tour
Cardi appeared ready to continue reducing her butt earlier in 2026. During a February backstage conversation with Kehlani, she joked that she planned to travel to Colombia after completing her Little Miss Drama Tour and disappear for several months while recovering.
“After this tour, I’m taking some out,” she said. “I don’t wanna hear nobody for three months. I’m going to Colombia, nobody hit me up, nothing. I’m taking this ass out!” By March, she had abandoned that plan.
“I was saying that, but I’m not gonna do it,” Cardi said during a March 24 appearance on Today. “I was just gonna take a little bit of butt out, but I don’t have time for that.”
Cardi Said Another Major Change Would Require Extensive Surgery
“I can’t just go and lipo my butt because my skin is, like, kinda loose,” she said, adding that a straightforward liposuction reduction could cause it to “drop.” A more substantial change, she said, would require surgeons to remove loose skin rather than simply performing liposuction.
“So I would have to cut myself,” Cardi said. “And I’m not cutting myself. I’m not sitting down for four months. I’m outside.” She added, “I like my body how it looks right now. I’m comfortable in my skin.”
